Regional SQD Manager - Automotive Business
Manage the supplier development projects of new suppliers from technical perspective to ensure conformity with SKF material and product standards through supplier APQP management, quality audits and continuous improvement. Be the SQD contact for the supply base in the defined region.
Drive continuous improvement actions such as Quality improvement projects, Lean Manufacturing, Scrap Reduction, Design Improvements, and Capability Improvements to ensure quality & cost performance of suppliers in defined region to reach strategic goal of global Procurement.
Key responsibilities
- Build and manage a team of SQD for EMEA, India and Americas and attract, retain and develop best talents
- Develop and implement supplier quality management strategies and processes.
- Participate in SKF Purchasing category´s strategies concerning manufacturing Process mapping & capability of the supply base and reaching Z supplier performance targets.
- Participate to SQD management team in order to organize and plan the SQD resources activities in order to support BU needs and Global procurement strategic plans and objectives.
- Prepare regular Management Reviews of the relevant SKF categories, for information, analysis and improvement activities concerning both supplier approval and supplier development activities.
- Be the escalation point for factories in the defined regions for critical supplier quality cases.
- Train & influence selected suppliers on how to meet SKF Qs requirements and Purchasing standard (D36).
- Enable continuous improvement initiatives with suppliers to enhance quality and performance.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including procurement, engineering, and manufacturing, to ensure alignment on quality objectives.
- Enforce the implementation of the SKF Quality standard requirements.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or a related field.
- Experience in supplier quality management or a related role.
- In-depth knowledge of quality management systems and methodologies.
- Experience with supplier audits and assessments
- Proficient problem-solving and analytical skills
- Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment.
- Proficiency in quality management software and tools.

Some additional information
This position will be located preferred in Airasca (Italy), Schweinfurt (Germany), or Gothenburg (Sweden), or in one of other major SKF Automotive site in EMEA region.
