About Technology Development 

The TD team for ISEA is focused on Customer Product development & Engineering, Innovation for the region, rollout of new technologies for the region, testing, Failure Investigation, scaleup from POC to series production, Portfolio Management etc.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Job Title:    Backend Developer

Reports To:   Technical Lead

Role Purpose:

We are currently seeking a talented and experienced backend developer to join our dynamic web development team of SKF Aerospace. If you are passionate about creating robust, scalable, and innovative web solutions, also collaborate with BI and analytics group, we'd love to have you on board!

Key Responsibilities

• Participate in the entire application lifecycle, focusing on coding and debugging.
• Design, develop, and maintain server-side logic using Node.js.
• Manage and optimize MySQL databases, ensuring data integrity and efficient data retrieval.
• Extract, transform, and load data from various sources into data warehouses and data lakes for analysis and reporting purposes.
• Ensure data quality and integrity by implementing data validation and testing procedures.
• Implement and maintain RESTful APIs for seamless communication between the frontend and backend systems.
• Ensure the security of the backend systems, implementing encryption, authentication, and authorization measures.
• Optimize server-side performance for fast response times and efficient resource utilization.
• Conduct code reviews and mentor junior developers to maintain high-quality coding standards.
• Integrate the application with external services, APIs, and third-party databases.
• Implement and maintain version control using Git for efficient code management.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to backend functionality and performance.

Competencies

• Proven experience as a Backend Developer with a focus on MySQL and Node.js.
• Solid understanding of server-side development, APIs, and database management.
• MySQL: Should be expert in MySQL. Strong knowledge in Database design, optimization, and administration
• Good to have: Knowledge of data warehousing concepts, such as dimensional modeling, star and snowflake schemas.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms and services, such as AWS, Azure and their data-related offerings, such as S3 etc.
• Expertise in Node.js and asynchronous programming.
• Experience with RESTful API design and implementation.
• Familiarity with frontend technologies, such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, and React JS
• Proficient in version control systems, especially Git.
• Good to have: understanding of data modeling concepts and familiarity with Snowflake's data modeling tools and techniques. Also, one of the ETL/ELT tools.
• Experience with Agile solution development

Candidate Profile: 

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology or a related field
• 5 - 8 Years of overall experience with minimum 4 years of experience in backend development
