JOB DESCRIPTION
Job Title: Business analyst
Reports To: Product & Data Engineering Manager, VA
Role Type: Individual Contributor
Location: Bangalore
Role Purpose:
Understand the Aftermarket business needs in terms of business intelligence solution and translate them into technical requirements that can be implemented by the technical team. Play a key role in gathering requirements, analyzing data, identifying opportunities for process improvement, conducting user acceptance testing, and documenting the solutions.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Gathering and analyzing business requirements: Work closely with stakeholders from Vehicle aftermarket Sales, business development, supply chain, manufacturing, and finance to understand their data needs and requirements
- Data analysis and modeling: Responsible for analyzing data to identify patterns and trends, and to develop data models that support reporting and analytics.
- Developing and documenting business rules and data definitions: Develop business rules that define how data should be used and interpreted within DW&BI. Develop data dictionaries to document data definitions and metadata.
- User acceptance testing: Responsible for designing and executing user acceptance testing to ensure that the data warehouse and business intelligence solution meet stakeholder requirements and expectations.
- Training and support: Develop training materials and provide user support to ensure that stakeholders can effectively use the data warehouse and business intelligence solution.
- Continuous improvement: Work with stakeholders to identify areas for improvement and to develop a roadmap for ongoing enhancements to the data warehouse and business intelligence solution.
Metrics
- Requirement accuracy, time to deliver requirements, no of business process improvements, user adoption of BI solution, communication effectiveness
Technical Skills:
- Expertise in ERP systems (XA, SAP, M3 etc)
- Exposure to programming languages including SQL, and Python.
- Knowledge of cloud services such as AWS and Azure.
- Knowledge in Power BI
Candidate Profile:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in the Business Analyst role in the business intelligence solutions area
- Good to have – working experience with ERP systems (XA, SAP, M3 etc.), data-related sales, supply chain data, manufacturing, working experience as a business analyst in an engineering industry like SKF
- Experience in data analysis and data presentations
- Good analytical and conceptual thinking skills
- Excellent documentation skills
- Experience creating reports and giving presentations
- Experience in leading and supporting successful projects
