We are in the process of identifying a suitable candidate for the role of Lead Engineer – Product Engineering Railways, Technology Development. This position will be at level 4 based in Bangalore and will report to Gururaj Gaddi (Dy. General Manager-Product engineering) Railways

Key Purpose of the Job:
- To carry out all needed activities for the development of TBU and its related components as a part of product engineering activities
- Carry out all needed activities within the portfolio to achieve exceptional results through – personal effectiveness, partnering with others & building customer loyalty fulfilling their needs in an efficient & effective manner.
Profile of the Job Holder:
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or industrial engineering stream.
- Candidate should be Good with verbal and written communication and must have a casting background.
- 8-12 Years of relevant functional work experience, preferably from Railway domain.
- Being an individual contributor, the position holder is an epitome of “Doing things correctly” & “Right from me”.
- Highly motivated & self-initiator with good communication skills with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Ability to work within a fast-paced environment with changing priorities.
- Ease at dealing with ambiguity in work situations. Take decisions with limited information where necessary and demonstrate confidence in own decisions.
- Empower themselves by seeking authority to make decisions within appropriate guidelines.

Key Skill & Knowledge Profile:
- Expertise in Design and Development (8 to 12 years)
- Able to design and develop components, assemblies considering application requirement
- Knowledge on incorporating manufacturing process methodology
- Knowledge on form, fit & functions of a product;
- Experience in Metrology & Metallurgical activities;
- Knowledge in application of measurement principles for manufacturing & other process;
- Knowledge on Material behavior properties (Metals. Alloys, castings, Plastics);
- Ability to apply DFM & DFA guidelines.
- Knowledge in manufacturing process capability.
- Knowledge of DFMEA
- Have basic knowledge on FEA
- Understanding of Project Management & its value to the business processes
- Expertise in Creo (5 to 8 Years)

- Ability to develop 3D models from digitized data.
- Proficient in advanced Modeling, Assembly and Detailing techniques.
- Awareness to Design Automation, Map keys, UDF’s, Pro-Programming, Pro-Toolkit.
- Should be expertise in creating templates, Part & Assembly detailing.
- Experience in creating Parametric BOM, symbols.
- Experience in working with Relations.
- Working with resolving failures (Eg.Reorder, redefine, reroute).
- Proficiency in using Windchill or Any PLM (5 to 8 years)

- Experience in using Advanced search options.
- Association between CAD documents and Product structure ( WT Part, EPM Doc, WT Doc).
- Understanding on Lifecycle states and Workflow followed.
- Should be aware of attribute descriptions in windchill.

- Proficiency in applying GD&T /Geometric Product Specification (GPS)

- Good Knowledge on Engineering Drawings Dimension & tolerancing.
- Good understanding on usage of datums in GD&T /GPS.
- Knowledge on form, fit & functions of a product;
- Knowledge on design standards (ASME, DIN, etc).
- Good knowledge on Basic rules of tolerance stack up analysis.
- Skill to do 2D tolerance stack up analysis for parts.
- Knowledge on Materials, Heat treatment & Finishing operation
- Material properties (Yield strength, FOS, Ultimate strength, Ultimate strength etc).
- Material behavior (static and dynamic conditions).
- Knowledge on different heat treatment processes and its effects.
- Knowledge on material testing methods.
- Knowledge on coatings and its uses.
- Knowledge in handling Engineering Change Management (ECM) process
