About Technology Development

The TD team for ISEA is focused on Customer Product development & Engineering, Innovation for the region, rollout of new technologies for the region, testing, Failure Investigation, scaleup from POC to series production, Portfolio Management etc.

What our customer gain from this is efficient digital data exchange, traceability and flexibility in design changes, reduced carbon footprint and higher performance products.
• Testing: Group Testing Services is a trusted partner in design, process and supplier validation. The testing team ensures greater focus on customer requirements, quality and operational efficiency. JOB DESCRIPTION

Job Title: Principal Engineer - Lubrication & Tribology

Reporting to: Research & Technology Development Manager

Location: GTCI, Bangalore

Role Type: Individual Contributor

Key Responsibilities:

• To lead R&D projects, with focus on bearing related R&D work in lubrication and tribology, e.g. tribological test, rheology analysis, lubricant screening, product benchmarking.
• Act as a successor of existing competence in grease, lubrication, tribology, rheology, etc.
• To support cross-functional projects in product development, engineering and application areas.
• To set up experiments to validate technical solutions, analyze the data produced and create standardized test procedures also for new tribological tests and methods.
•  To produce technical reports, presentations, explanations and communications to internal customers for tribology-related technical issues. To help preparing external communications.
• To participate to technical seminars for customers
• To collaborate with external universities / institutes 
• To collaborate with SKF global R&D groups on fundamental research projects

Required Skills and Working Experience:

• Master degree/Phd or equivalent working experience majored in mechanical engineering, chemical engineering,material, or other relevant subjects
• 10+ years experience in relevant industrial or academic areas
• Working experience in lubricating grease and oil will be a plus.
• Familiar with MS-Office practical usage.
• Ability to work across cultures and multicultural environments
• Customer focused, self-motivated, structured and analytical problem solver with a high level of personal drive and commitment
• Good team and networking aptitude, open minded
• Good English - written & verbal communication skills
