Digital Engineering & Innovation team is an international team based in multiple countries across the globe. We serve customers and distributors directly through services like Bearing Assist mobile application and AI enabled search on skf.com and provide immediate support for product selection and troubleshooting. Additionally, we support customers indirectly by offering solutions such as Engineering Tools, Product Lifecycle Management, Configurators, and Design Solutions. Many of these are AI-enabled, secure, and compliant with industry standards. We collaborate with various SKF teams to create a digital ecosystem, develop innovative solutions, and enhance our entire value chain to add value to our customers

JOB DESCRIPTION

Job Title:     Principal Solution Architect

Reports To: Director & Global Head, Digital Engineering & Innovation (DE&I)

Location:     Bangalore  

Role Purpose: 

   The Lead Solution Architect drives the development and maintenance of Digital Engineering & Innovation (DE&I) Architecture to create visualizations comparing current and future states of Digital Engineering & Innovation products and services. The role entails aligning SKF IT infrastructure with DE&I and Technology Development Business requirements, ensuring IT systems and technologies are optimized to effectively support business objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

• • Lead the architecture and design for a future platform of sales, products and services by assessing existing systems and emerging business models and needs.
  • Continuously research, evaluate, and implement new technologies within DE&I and TD.
  • Analyze existing systems and processes to identify opportunities for cost reduction and efficiency gains.
  • Maintain clear communication with DE&I Management and Global IT to confirm alignment between systems and business needs.
  • Evaluate market technology options for suitability, including software and hardware solutions.

Candidate Profile: 

• • Qualification - Master’s or bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Electronics or related fields
  • Overall Experience – 15+ Years (5-10+ years of software development experience and 5+ years of leading architectural decisions or teams)
  • Knowledge of cloud computing, enterprise data management & IT infrastructure
  • Proficiency in programming languages & database management
  • Familiarity with EA frameworks like TOGAF, ZACHMAN or GARTNER
  • Understanding of RESTful APIs, GraphQL, and event-driven systems
  • Working knowledge of development operations and automation like Kubernetes etc.
  • Knowledge of identity and access management (IAM), encryption, and compliance frameworks (GDPR, HIPAA, ISO).
  • Soft skills: Strategic Thinking, communication, leadership, ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audience
