                                                                                                                                                      Shift Engineer - Automotive Business

 

We are in the process of identifying a suitable candidate for the role of Shift Engineer (Manufacturing). This role will be based in Bangalore and will report to the Dy. General Manager.

Lead and guide production line workmen to achieve manufacturing goals/objectives with optimum utilization of the resources and Contribute to the creation and implementation of best practice, Manufacturing vision, strategy, policies, processes and procedures to aid and improve operational performance.

 

Key responsibilities (or What you can expect in the role) 

  • Upkeep and ensure shift safety procedures and enhance EHS culture.
  • Lean, Supervise and coach production shop floor team to achieve shift / day target.
  • Identify and improve efficiency loss/ process Scrap reduction in production line.
  • Effective utilization / work allocation of shift resource to achieve shift / day plan.
  • Review worker performance / skill and identify training needs.
  • Evaluating machine resources to ensure continued production and minimal downtime.
  • Adhere to shift routines and improve process control.
  • Foster a culture of Continues improvement, in cost saving, OEE improvement and sustainability initiatives.
  • Good knowledge Mass production system / Grinding /Assembly process.
  • Lead Kaizens, 5S and lean manufacturing initiatives like VSM / Waste identification / Time study / SMED opportunities in production line.
  • Good knowledge in developing process documents like PFMEA / Control Plan / Work Instruction / OPL’s.
  • Aware and hand on experience in QMS requirements (Internal auditor / Auditee)
  • Hands on experience in Quality tools like 7 QC tools , 8D.
  • Collaborate cross functionally and execute improvement projects
  • Knowledge (Internal auditor / Auditee) on   IATF 16949, ISO 50001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001

  • Zero Accident / Improving trend in OEE
  • Shop supply Cost reduction / SLR reduction
  • SPS adherences / People engagement / Continual improvement
  • Production System deployment and continual improvement.
  • Drive automation project to convert manual activities.

Requirements (or We expect you to have/be) 

  • BE / Diploma in Mechanical.
  • Minimum 5 - 7 years of experience in Manufacturing/Production line

We expect you to have:

  • Technical Knowledge on Hard Machining (Grinding and Honing) process is preferred.
  • Manpower management skill.
  • SPS tools
  • Aspects related to ISO, safety, energy management and environment Systems.
  • Resource Allocation: Assign operators, technicians, and material handlers to the Mgf. Channels/assembly lines based on skill matrices and daily priorities.
