Key Purpose of the Job:

The PLM Team, part of Product Development Solutions under Digital Engineering and Innovation (DEI), plays a key role in establishing the SKF Vision “A world of reliable rotation”, by supporting the SKF Business Community in the management of the Technical Product Information in the full value chain. As part of the PLM team, the Development solutions team is accountable for developing and maintaining the overall PLM solutions and integration to key SKF Enterprise systems. In addition, this team is also responsible for defining technology roadmaps based on the PLM Strategy and ensure new capabilities and solutions are built accordingly.

The individual will lead PLM Implementations in different Business Areas within SKF. This involves managing the Implementation/roll-out(s) with high level of technical competence through the process of capturing requirements, implementing solutions and ensuring the Business teams are using the tool throughout the process. This also involves participation in Global initiatives aimed at implementing new technologies/modules. He/she will carry out all needed support activities within the portfolio to achieve exceptional results through – personal effectiveness, partnering with others & building customer loyalty fulfilling their needs in an efficient & effective manner

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor(s) or Master degree in (Mechanical, Electronics or Computers) Engineering stream
  • 10-12 Years of relevant work experience in PLM (preferably Windchill)
  • 3-5 years of proven experience in actively developing and implementing PLM solutions in the business
  • Highly motivated & self-initiator to achieve planned results & business objectives
  • Must have good communication skills with the ability to work effectively in a matrix organization setup;
  • Being an individual contributor, the position holder is an epitome of “Doing things correctly” & “Right from me”;
  • Ability to work within a fast-paced environment with changing priorities.
  • RESP : Able to support region specific business demand/request (Americas) and solve incidents in PLM and CAD environment

 

Skills & Knowledge:

  • Proven experience of defining and implementing Windchill solutions with CAD (preferably Creo)
  • In-depth knowledge and demonstrated working experience in defining and implementing core PLM Modules (Part/BOM management, CAD management, ECM management, Document Management, Workflow Management, Classification & Options and Variant Mgmt.,)
  • Working Knowledge of CAD integration with Windchill (Creo/Workgroup manager)
  • Should be able to analyse the business process and map to the PLM standard defined in SKF
  • Able to spin-off quick turnaround of Proof of concepts (PoC) via agile process showcasing speed and urgency
  • Quickly understand the characteristics (way of working, design/review processes, methods used) in the product development/engineering teams
  • Should be able to plan and manage the execution of the end-end Implementation via SAF(e) methodology
  • Knowledge of engineering processes (ETO, CTO & ATO), Application Engineering process, Sales process is preferred
  • Exposure to Agile process and methodology is an added advantage
  • Knowledge of Thingworx/Navigate can be an added advantage

 

Key Responsibilities

Business Support

  • Support Local (US Business) and Global Business team(s)
  • Able to support both region specific and global business demand/request (Americas) and solve incidents in PLM and CAD environment
  • Engage and drive PLM project initiatives/strategy for local/global teams and drive to closure
  • Initiate & coordinate training/webinar and execute SKF specific training utilizing the in-depth knowledge of PDMLink to the user community

 

PLM Implementation

  • Able to configure/implement PDMLink solution(s) to suit business needs
  • Understanding the functionalities of SKF key PLM customizations
  • Ensure the solution is moved through the staging process (start with the Dev server, move to QA and to PROD) supported by thorough test plan to get acceptance of the implemented solution.
  • Be part of the PLM team to verify/validate applications during release/roll-out(s)

 

Stakeholder Management

  • Able to interact with external suppliers and SKF stakeholders during PLM implementations.
  • Facilitate stakeholder engagement and provide regular updates on program progress.
  • Be recognized and be a champion (SPOC) for Business teams

 

Change Management

  • Support change management initiatives, including training, communication, and support.
  • Act as a champion for user experience, ensuring smooth transitions and high satisfaction.
