Global Engineering Master Data Specialist
The SKF Lubrication Lifetime Solutions business is on a journey to build a global end‑to‑end digital backbone, anchored in a global SAP landscape. In a multi‑ERP environment, high‑quality master data is critical to enable efficient product development, supply chain planning, customer delivery, pricing, costing, and reporting. As Global Engineering Master Data Specialist, you will play a key role in ensuring clean, governed, and globally consistent engineering master data, while establishing and running a robust global master data governance framework. This role sits at the intersection of business, engineering, and IT and is essential for enabling scalable and sustainable global processes.
What you can expect in the role:
In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring global engineering master data quality and governance across the organization. Key responsibilities include:
- Maintain and safeguard global Engineering Master Data, by e.g. running and coordinating a global Master Data Stewards network, guiding or contributing to IT and process projects related to business master data, etc.
- Translate business requirements related to master data management into IT demands.
- Define standards, rules, and knowledge transfer for Engineering Master Data maintenance, including CAD data, drawings, material master (product definition), technical and product classification, and BOM structures.
- Be responsible for process design and process alignment within the master data domain, including design and implementation of master data workflows and approval processes.
- Collaborate closely with global, cross‑functional stakeholders, including Global IT, Finance & Controlling, Product Development & Engineering, Sales, Business Line, Supply Chain and Operation.
What we expect you to have:
- Well‑versed in ERP systems, preferably SAP, with deep understanding of master data and its impact on end‑to‑end business processes.
- Solid experience with engineering data, gained for example through product or application engineering, technical standardization, PLM, or engineering change management.
- Proficient in project execution and cross‑functional collaboration, with solid analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Highly developed interpersonal skills and effective communication, fluent in English. .
- Ability to combine technical, process, and business perspectives, in a role that requires both ownership and collaboration.
- Experience working with interfaced systems and platforms in addition to SAP and experience with transition from ECC to S/4HANA will be considered an advantage.

Additional information
This position will be located in Bangalore & Pune (India), Chodov (Czech Republic), Saint Louis (US), or Berlin & Walldorf (Germany), on local contract.
You will in this role belong to the global IT organisation within Lubrication, and report to the Manager Logistics Systems & Global Master Data, who is located in Walldorf, Germany.
