Industrial Engineer – Electrical Engineering / IT
We are looking for a hands-on and technically strong colleague to join our team at SKF Lubrication Systems CZ in Chodov. In this role, you will work on the design, implementation and development of special-purpose production and testing equipment, with a focus on electrical design, PLC control systems, automation, robotics and digital transformation.
You will cooperate closely with internal teams in the Czech Republic and abroad, support quality and production processes, and help us identify and implement new opportunities in automation, robotization and Industry 4.0.
Key responsibilities
- Leads and participates in digital transformation and Industry 4.0 projects (e.g. Digital Assembly Assistant, Pick by Light, condition monitoring and data collection from testing processes) in line with company needs
- Takes over know-how for new products and contributes to their optimization from an industrialization perspective, including production, assembly and testing
- Collaborates on specifications for electrical test fixtures and test cables and selects suitable electrical components
- Designs special-purpose production and testing equipment in terms of electrical systems and PLC control systems (hardware/software), manages implementation projects, communicates with suppliers, and proposes and prepares investment projects
- Provides or assists with fault diagnostics for production equipment and products, either internally or through external suppliers, and communicates with solution providers
- Identifies opportunities for automation, robotization and digitalization and supports the implementation of specific solutions
- Collaborates with the development teams in the Czech Republic, Germany and Sweden, as well as with Quality, on the preparation of test specifications
- Maps and maintains an overview of the company’s testing machines, including industrial control systems, installed software and electrical wiring
- Builds and develops expertise in areas required for automation, such as industrial machine vision, robots and cobots
- Creates electrical schematics and drawings, prepares technical documentation, and contributes to the implementation, creation and development of standards and layouts
We expect you to have/be
- Secondary or university education in electrical engineering or IT
- Professional qualification in electrical engineering pursuant to former Decree No. 50/1978 Coll. or Government Regulation No. 194/2022 Coll
- Recommended experience: 5 years with secondary education or 2 years with a university degree
- Knowledge of electronic components and their applications
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and drawings
- Familiarity with Siemens industrial control systems, such as SIMATIC and LOGO!
- Communicative written and spoken English or German at B1/B2 level; knowledge of both languages is an advantage
- Analytical approach and critical thinking, loyalty, independence and responsibility
- Willingness to learn and develop in line with company needs
It’s considered meritorious if you also bring:
- Knowledge of EPLAN or TIA Portal
- Knowledge of pneumatics, CNC, Fanuc robots or industrial machine vision
- Experience with automation, robotics, digital manufacturing or Industry 4.0 projects

This position will be located in Chodov, Czech Republic.
