Industrial Engineer: Mechatronics / Electrical

 

We are looking for a hands-on and technically strong colleague to join our team at SKF Lubrication Systems CZ in Chodov. In this role, you will work on the design, implementation and development of special-purpose production and testing equipment, with a focus on electrical design, PLC control systems, automation, robotics and digital transformation.

 

You will cooperate closely with internal teams in the Czech Republic and abroad, support quality and production processes, and help us identify and implement new opportunities in automation, robotization and Industry 4.0.

 

Key responsibilities

 

Automation, electrical design and project implementation

  • Design electrical connections and PLC control systems for special-purpose production and testing equipment, including both hardware and software aspects
  • Lead or support implementation projects, communicate with suppliers, and prepare investment proposals
  • Select and purchase electrical components and prepare specifications for electrical and testing cables
  • Diagnose faults independently or in cooperation with suppliers and coordinate technical solutions

 

Automation, documentation and digital transformation

  • Identify opportunities for automation, robotization and digitalization and cooperate on the implementation of specific solutions
  • Cooperate with the quality department on the preparation of testing specifications
  • Map and maintain company testing machines from the perspective of industrial control systems, installed programs and electrical connections
  • Prepare electrical diagrams, drawings and technical documentation and contribute to standards and layout development
  • Lead or participate in digital transformation projects such as digital assembly assistance, pick-by-light, condition monitoring and data collection from testing processes

 

 

We expect you to have/be

  • Secondary school or university degree in electrical engineering, mechatronics or a related technical field
  • Electrical qualification according to Czech legislation, especially Act No. 194/2022 Coll., or willingness to meet the required qualification
  • Driving licence, category B
  • Recommended experience of 5 years for secondary school graduates or 2 years for university graduates
  • Knowledge of electronic components and their application, and good orientation in electrical diagrams and drawings
  • Orientation in Siemens industrial control systems such as Simatic and Logo
  • Communicative English or German at B1/B2 level, both spoken and written; knowledge of both languages is an advantage
  • Fluent Czech, both spoken and written
  • Analytical mindset, critical thinking, loyalty, independence and responsibility
  • A can-do attitude and ambition to grow together with the company

 

It’s considered meritorious if you also bring:

  • Knowledge of EPLAN or TIA Portal
  • Knowledge of pneumatics, CNC, Fanuc robots or industrial machine vision
  • Experience with automation, robotics, digital manufacturing or Industry 4.0 projects

Some additional information

This position will be located in Chodov, Czech Republic.

 

The role may include cooperation with development and implementation teams in the Czech Republic, Germany, Sweden and other locations.
