Overview of position:

The Business Engineer position is a customer focused position responsible to develop new business opportunities for SKF Aerospace Sealing Solutions business unit.  This position requires business acumen to actively engage customers and leverage customer needs with SKF’s value proposition / products as well as evaluate technical capabilities of SKF’s product to meet the customer requirements.  The Business Engineer position will report to the SASS Business Development Manager.

 

Role definition:

  • Execute the Business Development strategy which includes prospecting of new customers and opportunities as well as supporting existing customers with new seal and precision elastomeric device products.
  • Scheduling and executing customer meetings, presentations and training seminars to promote SKF’s value proposition and products.
  • Work in coordination with Account Management to support Meetings, Trade Shows, Industry Action Group Meetings, Conferences, Expositions etc.….
  • Collect and disseminate competitive intelligence information gained through interaction with customers.
  • Provide feedback on New Market Offer / Product enhancement information to gain new market share.
  • Support with solicitation of information and data collection as input to scoping New Market Offers.  Capture Voice of the Customer.
  • Capture, enter and monitor new opportunities via SKF’s CRM system.

 

Candidate profile:

  • US Citizen (to be ITAR compliant as required for US Government & Defense interaction).
  • University level degree in Engineering or equivalent technical work experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in Application Engineering, Product Engineering, Business Development or Sales.
  • Previous experience in cross-functional & international business environment.
  • Ability to travel 35% with potential additional peak periods based on industry seasonality & customer activity.
  • Comfortable operating in a matrix style organization with emphasis on engaging with stakeholders and building relationships & networks for continued business interactions.
  • Proficient in current Microsoft O365 applications with emphasis on PowerPoint, Excel, Word as well as basic abilities with SharePoint and MS Teams.
  • Able to positively engage with the customers decision makers at multiple levels and disciplines (Management / Purchasing & Engineering functions).
