Job Summary

The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for developing, implementing, and continuously improving manufacturing processes to enhance safety, quality, productivity, and cost efficiency. This role works cross-functionally with production, quality, maintenance, supply chain, and engineering teams to optimize manufacturing operations, support new product introductions, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and improve manufacturing processes, equipment, tooling, and workflows.
  • Analyze production methods and identify opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and lower manufacturing costs.
  • Support new product launches by developing process documentation, work instructions, and production standards.
  • Lead continuous improvement projects using Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Kaizen, and other operational excellence methodologies.
  • Collaborate with Quality Assurance to investigate and resolve process-related quality issues.
  • Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
  • Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs), process flow diagrams, and manufacturing documentation.
  • Monitor production performance through data analysis and recommend process improvements.
  • Participate in equipment selection, installation, validation, and commissioning activities.
  • Ensure manufacturing processes comply with safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
  • Work closely with maintenance teams to improve equipment reliability and reduce downtime.
  • Support capital expenditure projects and prepare cost-benefit analyses for proposed improvements.
  • Train production personnel on new processes, equipment, and best practices.
  • Maintain accurate engineering records, process specifications, and documentation.

 

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related engineering field.
  • 3+ years of manufacturing engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, production systems, and industrial equipment.
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Proficiency with CAD software and manufacturing process design tools.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and technical data.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and ERP/MRP systems.

 

Required Qualifications

  • Experience with automation, robotics, CNC machining, or advanced manufacturing technologies.
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001, IATF 16949, AS9100, or other applicable quality management systems.
  • Experience with statistical process control (SPC) and process validation.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to work in an industrial manufacturing environment.
  • Frequent walking, standing, and observation of production processes.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally.
  • Use of required personal protective equipment (PPE) when on the production floor.
