Job Position Summary:

This position reports to the Channel Manager and will teach, coach and mentor approximately 30 front line associates. He or she will champion LEAN manufacturing to achieve all quality, cost, and customer service objectives.

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate all fabrication and assembly related production efforts from receipt of customer requirement through component delivery, assembly, final inspection, and processing through to the shipping department   
  • Optimize the utilization of all resources to include people, processes & equipment
  • Manage channel operations according to the SKF Code of Conduct, Environment Health & Safety (EHS) practices, and the Quality Management System  
  • Maintains liaison with other manufacturing departments & guides the investigation, analysis and solution of problems of prime importance to the channel goals and the objectives of all phases of the manufacturing process   
  • Be comfortable working with collective bargaining units   

 

Job Requirements:

  • B.S. degree in mechanical, industrial, manufacturing engineering or business-related discipline, and/or a combination of 5-7 years of experience and education in lieu of degree 
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in manufacturing environment, preferably aerospace, heavy metal manufacturing. Supervisory experience in a high-tempo workplace preferred   
  • Proficient with computer software & related systems, well-developed written, verbal and communication skills 
  • Must have fundamental shop skills such as print reading, measurement techniques, and a working knowledge of industrial manufacturing.
