Business Controller - Investment 

 

SKF Group Operations is responsible for providing operational guidance and support to the SKF Group and its Business Areas. The team consists of experts in areas such as manufacturing, supply chain management, logistics, and quality control. The team works closely with the Business Areas and the Group functions to ensure operational excellence and value creation across SKF.

 

What you can expect in this role
As Business Controller - Investment, you will be responsible for managing and optimizing the investment portfolio of SKF Group, ensuring alignment with the Group's strategic and financial objectives. You will collaborate with senior stakeholders in the Business Areas and the Group functions. Furthermore, you will: 

  • Drive investment analysis and evaluation by conducting financial modeling, due diligence, valuation, and risk assessment of potential and existing investments, both organic and inorganic. 
  • More concretely, this means connecting with relevant people in the Business Areas and the Group functions regularly to: 
    • identify and assess investment opportunities that support the Group's growth and profitability targets 
    • provide recommendations and business cases for investment decisions, based on sound financial and strategic rationale 
    • monitor and report on the performance and value creation of the investment portfolio, and propose corrective actions or exit strategies when needed 
  • Ensure harmonized and consistent investment processes and policies, in compliance with the Group's governance and reporting standards. 
  • To enable this work, the first step for the person in this role will be the development and implementation of a comprehensive and transparent investment framework (both the technical solution and the actual structure of it) to provide a clear and consistent view of the investment portfolio and its impact on the Group's financials. 

 

We expect you to have 

  • University degree in finance, accounting, or economics. 
  • Proven experience in investment management, corporate finance, or financial consulting, with a track record of delivering successful investment outcomes in a complex and dynamic environment. 
  • Proven experience in working collaboratively and coordinating among cross-functional or cross-regional teams, and the ability to effectively work with organizational differences and priorities is a requirement. 
  • Solid IT skills with the ability to use and develop financial tools and systems to support investment analysis and reporting. 
  • Professional fluency in English, with the ability to communicate well in a multicultural and complex global context.

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to help others make informed and rational decisions. 
  • Strong communication and influencing skills, and sound business judgment 
  • A propensity for innovative thinking, with an eye toward how to optimize and enhance the value of the investment portfolio.

Some additional info 
You will report to the Director of Controlling – Group Operations, who is located in Gothenburg, Sweden. The position holder should preferably be based in Gothenburg.
