Global Industry Director – Wind

Within SKF, the Group Commercial Excellence team has the responsibility to globally drive all the Global Industries and Product Lines strategies and we are looking for a strong leader to join our wind business as Global Industry Director – Wind.  

The high-level expectations of Global Industry Leaders at SKF 

• Develop industry position: Drive profitable growth by aligning with customer needs and the organization’s value proposition. 
• Formulate strategies: Create long-term industry strategies, prioritize mid-term strategic priorities, and design industry-specific product line roadmaps. 
• Enhance capabilities: Define functionality and cost positions for both industry-specific and non-specific product lines. 
• Value creation: Focus on revenue streams through existing and new business models. 
• Global team and process ownership: 
  • Lead a dedicated and highly competent global engineering and testing team 
  • Take global ownership of wind quality management. 
• Develop the aftermarket business: Have a special focus on developing the aftermarket business through the OES and independent service provider channels and developing the aftermarket offer including main shaft repair service centers.  
• Global leadership recognition: Demonstrate industry portfolio value and increase awareness. 
• Risk management: Identify and mitigate risks. 
• Customer partnership: Understand current and future customer needs, collaborate on growth roadmaps, and support market entry. 

SKF’s wind business is challenging and competitive. Therefore, we’re looking for a business-savvy and entrepreneurial leader who will drive the business. 

We expect you to have 

• University degree in engineering degree, or equivalent work experience. 
• Experience in working in an end-to-end full value chain (FVC) team (sales/marketing, application/product engineering, supply/demand chain, and manufacturing) adding value to customers. 
• Solid experience and track record of working in a matrix organization. 
• Extensive experience in sales and experience in global manufacturing operations. 
• Experience in global project management. 
• Solid stakeholder management skills and the ability to drive transformational change. 
• Good IT and customer integration knowledge. 
• Effective communication skills in English.

Some additional information 
This position is global, and the position holder can be based anywhere we have an SKF site. You will report to the SVP of Commercial Excellence Bearings.
