Key Account Manager – Automotive Sweden

 

SKF Automotive Sales Sweden is a sales unit in SKF Group responsible for sales to automotive customers in Sweden and Global Accounts headquartered in Sweden; specifically, sales to Volvo Cars, Volvo Group, and Scania and their key sub-suppliers. The team consists of Key Account Managers, Customer Service, and Application Engineers forming key account teams with a total sales responsibility of over 1 BSEK annually.

 

You have the chance to take part in the electrification journey of the automotive industry and drive innovation around the rotating shafts in vehicles at the same time as you will manage the business with one of SKF’s largest customers. It is an exciting time when you will balance growing the business with new innovative powertrain projects and sustaining the legacy business with profit. 

 

Key responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain and grow the business with one of the large automotive customer groups in Sweden 
  • Identify customer needs and match these needs to the company’s long-term growth plan 
  • Accountable for achieving profitable growth, pricing, and cost development 
  • Develop and negotiate global quotes and contracts aligned with SKF’s global sales teams. 
  • Work closely with other sales teams, manufacturing units, product development, business development, and all other support functions 
  • Be responsible for acting on the good quality of the order book and timely payments together with customer service and other relevant stakeholders 
  • Follow-up profit and sales growth closely with the Sales Unit Manager 
  • Develop and maintain positive business relationships with customers in all functional areas 
  • Monitor customers’ scorecards and act on any deviations 


This position is a prestigious KAM role with great visibility and focus from the organization, requiring high activity level and typically international trips with monthly frequency. 

 

Requirements  

  • University degree in engineering or equivalent such as finance/sales/marketing  
  • Technical product knowledge enabling you to speak to customers by yourself without support from e.g., an Application Engineer 
  • Understanding market needs, leading to the right SKF positioning, considering competitive advantages, and value propositions, and making appropriate commercial decisions 
  • Business development and/or sales experience. Experience in the automotive industry is considered advantageous.  
  • Technical knowledge in automotive systems and applications is advantageous  
  • Professional communication skills in English are required, and it is advantageous if you are also fluent in Swedish.

Some additional information
The position holder will report to the Manager of SKF Automotive Sales Sweden, and should preferably be based in Gothenburg, Sweden.
