Job Title: Head – Business Development & Sales, Railways BU
Reports To: Segment Head – Railways, BU
Role Type: People Manager
Location: Gurgaon
- Purpose of Position:
Evolve business strategies relevant to his/her market and implement marketing and pricing strategies,
to ensure profitable growth of the business with effective customer relationship management
- Key responsibilities:
- To lead manage and further develop the Sales Pan India.
- New business development with Pvt. OEM / Key Accounts.
- Manage the department providing budgets, forecasts and monthly reports.
- Manage the staff within the Unit for day to day matters.
- Build and deliver the India sales and marketing strategy and activities.
- To ensure that the overall unit competences meet SKF customers' existing and future needs and that the unit's resources are used in the most effective and efficient way
- Negotiate commercial contracts internally and externally.
- To drive the team to build strong, long term customer relationships and to fully understand the customers' needs with a machine full life cycles approach.
- To ensure that all opportunities are identified, properly classified and worked upon
- To initiate, drive and participate in events with customers, such as customer days, seminars, trade shows etc and to demonstrate SKF's capabilities
- To assure customer satisfaction in terms of engineering support through quality, speed, responsiveness and innovation
- To develop and maintain a wide international network with the global Railway.
- To assure the Team knowledge is developed, documented and spread among the community.
- Ensure profitable growth for the Railway Unit in India. Manage customer accounts and contractual obligations.
- Secure excellent delivery performance to customers.
- Profile of the jobholder:
- Capacity to relate to all levels with customers and strong negotiating skills.
- Experience of business development process in B2B.
- Flexible and innovative approach in order to run the business.
- Strategic thinker combined with hands on mentality.
- Decision maker.
- Strong leadership style with managerial experience.
- Financial knowledge & abilities.
- Good understanding of the overall business and familiar with the service business.
- Excellent experience and proven track record in Sales Management
- Ability to interact with customers on all levels.
- Excellent business understanding and good negotiating skills
- Minimum 5 years managerial experience, with commercial and/or technical base
- Good leadership skills, proven record in People Management
- Good influencing skills and an ability to challenge.
- Willingness to travel
