Product Material Compliance & Supplier Sustainability Specialist
The Aerospace Product Material Compliance team is responsible for ensuring that our products comply to regional and global regulatory requirements, satisfying customer requirements relating to material composition, and aligning cross-functional teams with focus on sustainability of our product portfolio. This role supports our operations in the EU.
In this role regarding product material compliance (70 % ), you will:
• Complete Product Material Compliance investigation operationally in the Aerospace BU in the EU. Establish and maintain Product Material Compliance mapping of the product portfolio.
• Organize, control, and improve the Product Material Compliance management process, manage the requirements in the Full Value Chain, and implement the strategy.
• Improve the effectiveness and efficiency of the retrieval and reporting of product compliance data through digitalization and automation.
• Prioritize SKF RSL compliance in the product portfolio, with oversite of the change management process.
• Evaluate and coordinate customer-related Product Material Compliance requests and requirements. Support Sales in interpreting customer requirements and ensure that evidence of compliance for Aerospace products is brought efficiently to requesting customers.
• Drive implementation of processes and tools for SKF Product Development to ensure that new products comply with relevant legislation.
• Update and maintain SKF’s Product Material Compliance database.
• Manage regional PMC reporting requirements.
• Conduct product compliance training for relevant internal organizations such as Sales, Purchasing, Engineering, & Management as needed.
In this role regarding supplier sustainability support (30 %), you will:
• Coordinate and prioritize supplier communications with Purchasing based on material risk and to satisfy customer requests. Oversee gathering of information from suppliers, review and approve supplier declarations, and implement the acquired evidence. Ensure accuracy of supplier information and data.
• Support purchasing to resolve internal/external sustainability related requests on an as needed basis.
Examples include but are not limited to decarbonization, product carbon footprints, reducing environmental impact across the value chain, circularity, emerging sustainability topics, energy data
collection/reporting, regulatory requirements, customer specific restricted substance lists, digitalization projects and data quality improvements, training development, risk management, process optimization, and sustainability support for functional areas within the Aerospace business unit.
We expect you to have
• Degree in a technical subject or law (as Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Industrial Engineering, Environmental Science, or similar).
• A good understanding of environmental legal requirements
Examples: REACH, EU RoHS, China RoHS, California Proposition 65, Canada Prohibition of Certain Toxic Substances Regulations, Stockholm Convention on Persistent Organic Pollutants.
• Experience with regional and global regulatory requirements (REACH, RoHS, Conflict Minerals, etc.).
• project management skills with the ability to coordinate and lead cross-functional project teams, while managing stakeholder expectations.
• Experience in working in the Full Value Chain including both manufacturing and transactional environments.
• Proficient in English, both written and spoken.
• Willingness to travel as required.

Some additional information
Due to export control requirements and consideration of products used in military applications, the location of this position is required to be at one of the SKF Aerospace BU sites in France or Italy in the form of a local contract.
