Supplier Quality Engineer 

   

In this role, you will play a key part in securing the quality of SKF Condition Monitoring / Machine Health products by working closely with suppliers and internal stakeholders across the globe. 

  

As a Supplier Quality Engineer, you will be part of a highly skilled quality organization within SKF, supporting Development, Purchasing, and Supply Chain to ensure that suppliers meet SKF’s quality requirements throughout the entire product lifecycle. This is a global role with high impact, offering both responsibility and the opportunity to shape how we work with our suppliers. 

 

Key responsibilities  

In this role, you will manage and develop supplier quality in close collaboration with both external partners and internal teams. Your responsibilities will include: 

 

  • Ensuring that suppliers and vendors meet SKF quality standards throughout the full product lifecycle 

  • Supporting Product Owners and Solution Owners in supplier and vendor selection 

  • Supporting Purchasing with supplier and vendor contracts from a quality perspective 

  • Supporting Supply Chain in developing collaborative and effective supplier relationships 

  • Deploying and applying SKF’s Quality Management System in line with ISO 9001 requirements 

  • Owning, monitoring, and continuously improving supplier quality KPIs and process measures 

  • Managing supplier evaluation and escalation processes, including follow up and corrective actions 

  

Your background and experience 

 

We are looking for a candidate with experience within supplier quality and quality assurance, combined with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders. To succeed in the role, you are likely to bring many of the following: 

 

  • Around 5 years of experience working within Supplier Quality, Vendor Quality, or a related quality role 

  • A masters’s degree in Engineering, Quality, or a related technical discipline is preferred. Relevant experience within supplier quality or quality assurance may substitute formal education
  • Experience of supplier quality audits – as an auditor, an auditee, or through close involvement and preparation 

  • Good understanding of supplier quality control processes and how they are applied in practice 

  • Experience using structured problem solving methods such as 8D, DMAIC, PDCA, or similar approaches 

  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in English, both written and spoken 

  • Comfort in leading and contributing to meetings with suppliers, customers, and internal stakeholders at different levels, while representing SKF in a professional and trustworthy manner

Some additional information 

This position is based in Luleå, Sweden, and involves collaboration with suppliers and teams worldwide. The role requires travel to meet with suppliers within Sweden, as well as potential international travel one to two times per year.
