Human Resources Manager – Muskegon, MI



This position is a hands-on management position, effectively performing, managing, directing and coordinating all human resource functions and the (EH&S MS) Environmental, Health and Safety Management System and all related tasks at the plant level.  Works closely with Corporate HR Business Partners and Corporate EH&S Teams. This position also directs and supervises the Human Resources Administrative Assistant.

  • HR Liaison for the shared services employees located in an adjacent office.
  • Provide full HR support to the Engineering Department
  • Participate in a variety of regularly scheduled WebEx calls for both HR and EH&S with both US Corporate and Group Corporate.
  • Employment Law – Stays on top of local employment law, including MIOSHA and DOL.
  • Safety Training
  • Review and update all EH&S Policies and Procedures per Corporate and Group updates and requirements.
  • Manages all requirements of the EH&S MS:
  • Purchase and approve the purchase of a variety of products and services.
  • Manage Compass Software – maintain all accident and near miss records
  • Site Data Officer  



  • A Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university. 
  • Four (4) plus years’ experience in Human Resource Management in a manufacturing/union facility.
  • Ability to respond effectively to sensitive inquiries or complaints.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Ability to communicate at all levels with all types of individuals.
  • Ability to develop and present a variety of training modules using Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to learn a variety of software packages including Kronos, Compass, People Core and Whistle Blowers, just to name a few.
  • PHR or SPHR certification preferred.
  • Must be able to see, hear, sit, stand, walk and move about the plant freely.
  • Must be an American Citizen.
