JOB DESCRIPTION
Position Title: Assistant Manager - Maintenance
Reports To: Deputy General Manager Plant Engineering Services and EHS
Role Type: Individual Contributor
Location: Mysore
Purpose of the role
To oversee all installation, repair, automation, technologically up-to-date, and upkeep operations with high productivity, reduced downtime, and optimal cost efficiency.
The role ensures seamless functioning of production machines by supervising maintenance associates, coordinating repairs, driving automation initiatives and implementing robust preventive and predictive maintenance programs. Ensure compliance with safety and quality standards to minimize downtime and maximize operational efficiency.
Key responsibilities include managing and improving Hydro-Pneumatic molding machine, PLC, HMI, and robotics/vision system programming; optimizing equipment performance; and implement automation-driven enhancements across manufacturing processes.
Responsibilities-
- Preventive & Predictive Maintenance : Develop schedules to minimize downtime.
- Breakdown Maintenance, preventive Maintenance activities and continuous improvements on molding machine, SPS, Automation, Robotic etc
- Analyse reports and identify Process Improvement : Implement lean practices and reliability-centered maintenance.
- Team Supervision : Lead technicians ensuring adherence to safety and quality standards.
- Compliance : Ensure machinery meets SKF’s global standards for safety, sustainability, and efficiency.
- Reporting : Track KPIs like MTTR (Mean Time To Repair) and MTBF (Mean Time Between Failures).
- Troubleshooting : Diagnose technical issues and coordinate repairs
- Training the manpower in maintenance and utilities.
- Providing uninterrupted utilities to the plant
- Contribute to the creation and implementation of best practice, to aid and improve operational performance.
- Deploy Maintenance Excellence (TPM) program
- Ensure continuous improvement on factory energy performance
- Establish suitable action plan to reduce D-Time, MTTR and increase MTBF
- Support SKF Production System deployment - 5S , KAIZEN and other lean tools, practices
- Have familiarity with ISO 14001, ISO 45001 , ISO 50001
- Drive projects (up-gradation of machines)
- Upgrade machineries to comply to the I4.0 company strategy.
- Produce written reports and make presentations.
- Perform root cause analysis and resolve problems
- Follow Environmental, Health and Safety practices

Competencies
- Good knowledge about PLC and HMI, VFD and Vision system programming.
- Project management & Team Management skills

- Knowledge on Industrial Automation, Robotic, IoT, Industry 4.0
- Knowledge on Utilities HVAC, DG sets, Air Compressors, Chillers, ETP, STP.
- Knowledge on Injection molding, compression molding and automation machines
- Problem-solving and analytical thinking
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Candidate Profile:
7-12 years in maintenance of manufacturing Machineries, Compression and Injection molding machine, SPMs , automation machines and , utilities

Qualification:
BE in Electrical and Electronics (Full time).
