JOB TITLE: Manager/ Deputy Manager Machinery Development
Role Type: Individual Contributor
- Purpose of the role:
Drive manpower reduction through automation projects, design & develop Industry 4.0 enabled machines for streamlining production of new products.
- Responsibilities
- Strategy Development: Developing a strategic roadmap for automation and digitization initiatives aligned with the organization's goals and objectives. This includes identifying areas for automation, defining key performance indicators (KPIs), and setting targets for process optimization.
- Process Assessment: Evaluating existing business processes, identifying bottlenecks, and analyzing the potential for automation. This involves conducting process mapping exercises, plant layout & management, and identifying opportunities for improvement.
- Automation Implementation: Identifying and implementing appropriate automation technologies, tools, and solutions to streamline processes. This may involve implementing Robotic Process Automation (RPA), artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning (ML), or other emerging technologies to automate repetitive tasks, reduce manual effort, and enhance operational efficiency.
- Project Management: Will need to work on projects with error free outputs following instructions from Project lead and or independently complete the projects as per the process requirement.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Collaborating with cross-functional teams, including IT, operations, finance, and business units, to understand their requirements, address their concerns, and ensure successful implementation of automation and digitization initiatives. This may involve conducting training sessions, workshops, and change management activities to facilitate smooth adoption.
- Performance Monitoring and Evaluation: Shall provide information on project status to team lead. Flexibility on assignments is important.
- Interact with other SKF Groups for similar projects/concepts.
- Ensure World Class machinery development as per the SIAS (SKF Industrial Automation Standards)
- Metrics
- No of manpower reduced by implementing automatic machineries.
- No of Industry 4.0 enabled machines commissioned & handed over to production.
- No of machines installed and commissioned on time.
- Competencies
- Knowledge in Engineering Design, Kano Model & HOQ (House of Quality)
- Expert in Machine Vision, Deep Learning Models, Image classification models
- Master in PLC programming on software like RS Logix 5000, Automation Studio & Omron CX-One.
- Knowledge in 3D modeling, 2D Drafting & electric schematic design .
- Hands on experience on servo motors, VFDs, PID
- Robot, Cobots interfacing, Installation and Commissioning. Experience on Fanuc, ABB Robot Programming and teaching will be an added advantage.
- Various communication topologies and its deployment on site. Ethernet IP, Profinet, Profibus, Modbus. Project Management skills
- Engineering management skills, International Standards like IEC 61131 & ISO 10724.
- Candidate Profile
- BE in Mechatronics / Electrical and Electronics / Electronics and Communication / Instrumentation.
- Should have at least 8-12 years’ experience in the field of industrial automation, machine design, pneumatics, PLC, vision system, Robotics & sensors.
