Direct Material Buyer

Your day-to-day work  

• Be responsible for managing direct material suppliers for Poznan manufacturing site;
• Collaborate with Global Category Manager and EMEA Category lead and the Local Purchasing team to deliver sourcing, negotiation, contract execution, and supplier management;
• Execute sourcing strategies and optimize supply base to achieve our objectives on quality, cost, delivery, sustainability, innovation, considering SKF best practices methods;
• Deliver savings and other set KPIs critical to the spend category;
• Absorb, share, and promote best practices and sourcing excellence within SKF Purchasing Communities;
• Secure compliance with SKF Global standards;
• Ensure early involvement of the purchasing by building strong partnership with different business functions;
• Maintain and develop relationships with strategic local, regional, and global suppliers and work close with them on cost optimization projects;
• Analyze the cost of products and services and propose simplification of the design, reduce unnecessary specifications that don’t add value.

We expect you to have/be    

• 3-5 years of relevant sourcing experience;
• Procurement expertise in commercial and contract negotiations, strategic sourcing, cost model synthesis and supplier relationship;
• Knowledge & Experience in Project Management / Change Management;
• Strategic & analytical thinking;
• Good understanding of product cost breakdowns and experience in methods for TCO management, based on product cost analysis and cost engineering;
• Able to read and understand technical drawings and specifications. Good understanding of manufacturing processes and engineering standards for industrial parts;
• Proficient in using Microsoft Office (including MS Excel, Power BI);
• Good communicator and presenter at key stakeholders;
• Significant analytical, critical thinking, and interpersonal skills – ability to lead negotiations and purchasing projects as the part of international communities;
• Flexibility to travel;
• Good English skills (B1/B2);
• Understanding of economy and finance and ability to make strategic decisions based on that.
