Global Trade Lane Manager
Location: Puebla, MX
The purpose of the function is to develop the intercontinental transportation network for SKF Automotive and this for all transport modes: Air, Ocean, Express, Rail and Road. The aim is to provide SKF and its customers with reliable, sustainable, cost-effective and customer driven transport solutions for the assigned trade lanes.
In the role as a Trade Lane Manager-Transportation you will have global contacts throughout SKF Automotive units as well as with external suppliers. It is a dynamic role where you will influence and take part in important and strategic transportation matters. The work pace is high and we are looking for a team player with analytical, purchasing and communication skills as well as transportation knowledge.
Key Responsibilities
Trade Lane Management and Optimization
- Support and drive initiatives to improve reliability, lead time, cost and to reduce the transport emission footprint for the assigned trade lanes
- Identify and transform (internal and external) customer transport requirements into reliable solutions
- Proactively perform network analysis and network optimization in close collaboration with shipping and receiving units
- Accountable for the implementation of new transport solutions
- Perform network analysis and network optimization
Transport Tendering
- Prepare and participate in global Intercontinental transport tender projects
- Perform ad hoc (emergency) tenders and supplier selection
- Responsible for the periodic transport rate reviews and communication to the relevant stakeholders
- Responsible for master data for relevant lanes: lead time, incoterms, ports, shipping/receiving addresses, volumes…
Supplier Relation Management
- Securing long term development of the supplier base through supplier development programs
- Secure that the contractual framework is in place and is being followed by the assigned transport suppliers
- Organize QBR’s, covering Performance and improvement plans follow up, IT integration, volume and spend development, sustainability initiatives …
Internal Stakeholder Management
- Follow up and communicate to the relevant internal stakeholders on quality, cost, volume and emission development on lane level (end-end)
- Act as an escalation point for local units in the region for lane or transport supplier related issues
- Drives regional transport community meetings for the defined geographical region, in close collaboration with transport colleagues in the units
- Follow and communicate global and regional transport market trends as well as relevant geopolitical developments - in particular in relation to the assigned lanes
Candidate Profile
- Service minded and customer focused
- Sound knowledge of transportation management
- Purchasing expertise and negotiation skills - experience with sourcing tools is an advantage
- Excellent communicator – fluent in English
- Analytical
- Self-driven attitude
- Prepared to travel
- Ability to lead multi-disciplinary projects
- University degree (or equal through experience)

This position will be located Puebla, MX. We are hybrid working in office Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.
