JOB DESCRIPTION
Position Title: Assistant Manager-Application Engineering
Reports To: Team Leader - Application Engineering (Focus Segment).
Role Type: Individual Contributor
Location: Pune
Purpose of the role:
Based on customers’ needs, promote SKF know-how and value proposition in line with strategy. Propose technical solutions in collaboration with sales team. Manage technical relationships with customers, including responding to enquiries and evaluating technical risks. Bring a strong technical and segment expertise into the market and be involved in internal and external technical trainings, Site Surveys & Customer Events.
Responsibilities:
- Create application-based segment offerings and support sales team in driving the same across assigned segments.
- Develop techno-commercial solution for the customer requirements.
- Create compelling value proposition along with sales team to increase the win probability for the proposals.
- Provide segment trends, key segment needs, market and competitive information to sales and leadership team.
- Conduct segment specific training and presentations.
- Adopt new products and technology to ensure competitiveness.
- Work as a bridge between Customers / Sales and Design team.
- Participate actively in Contract review, Design review, Risk assessment.
Key Interfaces:
- Sales Team.
- Sales Operations Team (Distribution, Customer Service and Project Management)
- Design Engineering team.
- Controlling.
- Manufacturing and Procurement.
- Quality and Audit
KPI’s:
- On time offer submission – response time as per the due dates.
- Conversion – offer to order.
- Organic business growth through solution offerings for customers (X% of orders)
Competencies:
- Knowledge of Lubrication / Hydraulic systems, products, configuration rules (Preferred)
- Industrial segment application knowledge (Preferred: Mining, Metals, Cement, Power)
- Technical problem solving, Strong quantitative skills.
- Piping (Process Piping).
- Manufacturing drawings.
Tools:
- AutoCAD (P&ID), SAP, C4C (CRM) & O365.
Candidate Profile:
- Education: Bachelor of Engineering or B.Tech (Mechanical domain preferred).
- Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience in Complex Industrial Sales, Distributor and Key Account management
- Ability to work with cross-functional team.
- Strong business acumen, customer focus.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, networking and influencing skills with internal and external stakeholders.
