Position Title: Application Engineer Manager - Pune
Reports To: Application Engineering Head
Role Type: Team Management
Location: Pune
Job Responsibilities
Develop and promote segment oriented Application Solutions for the customer in the segment. Contribute to improve SKF’s business, profitability & brand image by offering value added products & technical services to customers, reducing `Total Cost of Ownership` for customer & improve customers’ competitiveness.
- Responsibilities
- Setup Solution Oriented AE teams -
- Map what expertise to be represented in the teams to create customer value.
- Amplify full value chain within AE Community.
- AE competency development.
- Strengthen AEs abilities to drive performance –
- Strive for a deeper understanding of the whole system to understand real industry problems.
- Develop product solutions addressing the pain area of customers helping create new business opportunities.
- Engage in Technical Selling of SKF solutions.
- Drive customer & competitor intelligence - Create structured way of working for AEs to capture customer & competitor intelligence & Transfer knowledge to key stakeholders in SKF organization.
- Develop & share knowledge – Active involvement in AE Knowledge Hub, Handbooks, Technotes. etc
- Work towards development of digital collaboration tools & infrastructure – Build Competence around intelligent solution. Enhancing customer experience by faster responses.
- Build and maintain long term relationships with customer key Stake holders, understanding their needs, machines, development life cycles and market trends.
- Develop and execute stakeholder engagement strategies & collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet sales strategies and objective
- Training and development of Frontline sales, Business Development, Application Engineering, DD organization on the segment products and new technologies.
- Identify segments, technical trends and give feedback to PD/ PE for development of competitive products and services.
- Metrics
- No of New Solutions (NMO / NCO/CSO ) introduced in the Segment.
- No of Industry visibility activities done – conduct technical forums/ seminars with customer.
- Delta sales through New Product introduction or FVC projects
- Documented solutions for the customer.
- Develop Succession plan.

- Candidate Profile
- Mechanical Engineering or Equivalent
- Work Experience > 10 Years.
- Prior experience with bearings preferred. (Rotating Equipment’s)
