JOB DESCRIPTION

 

Job Title:             Chief Accountant R2R

Reports to:         Process Delivery Manager R2R

Role Type:          Team Manager/Individual contributor

Location:            Chinchwad, Pune

 

Job Roles & Responsibilities:

 

Responsible for managing and ensuring accurate, compliant, and timely financial reporting for one or more legal entities within the sub-region. The role supports statutory, regulatory, and corporate governance requirements while partnering closely with the CFO, Company Finance Manager, auditors, and key business stakeholders to deliver high-quality financial reporting and control.

 

Key Tasks & Responsibilities

 

Financial Reporting & Close Management

  • Coordinate and oversee month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing activities for assigned legal entities.
  • Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting in compliance with IFRS, Ind AS, local GAAP, Companies Act requirements, and Group accounting policies.
  • Review journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and financial statements to ensure completeness and accuracy.
  • Support consolidation and reporting requirements for group and management reporting.

 

Statutory & Regulatory Compliance

  • Prepare and coordinate statutory financial statements in collaboration with the Company Finance Manager.
  • Ensure compliance with Companies Act, SEBI regulations, stock exchange reporting requirements, and other applicable statutory regulations.
  • Coordinate filing requirements, disclosures, and regulatory submissions related to listed entity obligations.
  • Monitor changes in accounting standards and regulatory requirements and drive implementation as required.

 

Governance, Controls & Audit

  • Ensure compliance with corporate governance requirements and internal control frameworks, including IFC/SOX (where applicable).
  • Coordinate internal, statutory, tax, and regulatory audits and serve as the key finance contact for auditors.
  • Drive timely closure of audit observations and implementation of corrective actions.
  • Support risk assessment and control monitoring activities across the reporting process.

Business Partnering & Stakeholder Management

  • Act as the primary finance interface for the Company Finance Manager, CFO, Corporate Finance, and external stakeholders.
  • Partner with business teams to provide financial insights, accounting guidance, and reporting support.
  • Support Board, Audit Committee, and leadership reporting requirements through preparation of high-quality financial analyses and presentations.

Performance Reporting & Continuous Improvement

  • Support CFO and senior management with profitability analysis, margin reviews, working capital reporting, and quarterly board packs.
  • Drive process standardization, automation, and reporting improvements through SKF Business Excellence and digital initiatives.
  • Lead initiatives focused on improving reporting quality, compliance, efficiency, and control effectiveness.
  • Actively contribute to finance transformation projects, ERP enhancements, and process optimization initiatives.

 

Experience

 

  • Qualified Chartered Accountant (CA).
  • 15+ years of progressive experience in Finance, Accounting, and Controllership functions.
  • Demonstrated experience within:
    • Financial Accounting & Reporting
    • Financial Controlling
    • Statutory Compliance
    • Audit Management
    • Corporate Governance
    • Listed Company Reporting Environment

Competency Profile

  • Strong experience in a listed company environment.
  • In-depth knowledge of Ind AS, IFRS, Companies Act, and regulatory reporting requirements.
  • Strong understanding of financial close, consolidation, and statutory reporting processes.
  • Experience managing internal and external audits.
  • Knowledge of Internal Financial Controls (IFC) and governance frameworks.
  • Strong analytical, stakeholder management, and business partnering skills.
  • Proven ability to identify and implement process improvements.
  • Advanced ERP knowledge (SAP/S4HANA preferred).
  • Strong communication, presentation, and board-reporting capabilities.
