Deputy Manager-People Business Enabler - Automotive Business

Job Description

Job Title: Deputy Manager – People Business Enabler 

Role Type: Individual Contributor

Role Reports to: Head – People Experience, Automotive India

Purpose of the Role

 

As an People business enabler for Sales, Engineering, and Central Functions, the role is responsible for driving the people agenda in alignment with business priorities. The role will ensure seamless and consistent employee experience across people processes, enable leadership effectiveness, strengthen culture and engagement, and build organizational capability to support business growth.

Key Responsibilities

Business HR Partnering

  • Act as a strategic HR partner to business leaders across Sales, Engineering, and Central Functions.
  • Enable effective workforce planning aligned to business strategy and budgeted headcount.
  • Advise leaders on organization design, role clarity, team effectiveness, and change management.
  • Ensure consistent deployment of HR policies, processes, and governance frameworks.

Talent Management & Leadership Development

  • Partner with stakeholders to enable timely hiring against approved manpower plans.
  • Support assessment and selection of external talent with focus on cultural fit and future potential.
  • Drive succession planning and talent reviews for critical roles
  • Support deployment of competency frameworks to build a future-ready workforce.
  • Enable leadership and capability development initiatives.

Performance & Capability Management

  • Drive effective goal setting, performance reviews, and differentiation aligned to business goals.
  • Coach managers on performance management, feedback culture, and people decision-making.
  • Support career development conversations and internal mobility.

Culture, Engagement & Employee Experience

  • Drive initiatives to build a high-performance, inclusive, and values-driven culture.
  • Strengthen employee engagement through data-driven action planning.
  • Enable diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives across supported functions.

Learning & Development

  • Identify capability gaps based on business needs and future skills.
  • Partner with Learning teams to design and deploy development interventions.
  • Encourage continuous learning, skill enhancement, and career growth.

HR Governance & Compliance

  • Ensure adherence to HR policies, processes, and governance frameworks.
  • Support internal audits and reviews related to people processes.
  • Maintain high standards of documentation and data accuracy.

Key Success Measures

  • Timely hiring against approved manpower plans
  • Succession coverage for critical roles
  • Improvement in engagement and employee experience scores
  • Leadership capability improvement
  • Zero major audit observations related to HR governance

Requirements (Candidate Profile)

  • Postgraduate qualification in Human Resource Management from a reputed institute
  • 8+ years of experience as an HR Business Partner supporting Sales, Engineering, or Corporate functions
  • Strong exposure to talent management, leadership development, and performance management
  • Experience working closely with senior leaders in a matrixed organization
