Job Title: Global Category Buyer - Professional Services (Indirect Material & Services)
Reports To: Global Category Manager - Facility Services & Energy.
Role Type: Individual Contributor
Location: Pune
We are seeking a driven Global Category Buyer to join our global procurement team, with a primary focus on procurement of Professional services. This role is based in India, but operates within a global matrix organization, collaborating closely with stakeholders across regions to ensure cost-effective, compliant, and value-driven sourcing.
Responsibilities
- Execute tactical procurement activities for professional services categories, including Management Consulting Services, Engineering & Technical Services, and Marketing Services.
- Manage purchase requisitions, RFQs, and PO creation in alignment with global procurement policies.
- Support category managers and group functions in supplier selection, negotiation, and contract execution.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, legal requirements, and sustainability goals.
- Maintain supplier relationships and monitor performance
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Finance, Legal, and Group Functions.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and cost optimization strategies
- Ensuring that supplier bases of recurring services are properly equipped with capacity/capability, standardized contracts, and competition models as well as efficient/effective request-to-order processes.
Your profile
The ideal candidate combines a strong educational background, solid purchasing experience, and outstanding interpersonal skills. For the right candidate, a lack of qualification in one area could be compensated for by a high level of qualifications in another.
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration/BE/B Tech; procurement certifications are a plus.
- 3–5 years of experience in tactical procurement, minimum 3 years in professional services procurement.
- Familiarity with global sourcing practices and working in a global environment.
- Strong analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
- Proficiency in procurement tools (e.g., SAP Ariba, Coupa) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively across time zones and cultures.
