Job Title: Global Category Manager – IT India
Reports To: Global Category Manager - Facility Services & Energy.

As Global Category Manager IT you will play a vital part in the value realization, working close with key stakeholder to grasp business requirements and opportunities as well as forming strategic relationships with key suppliers.
To thrive in this role we believe you have IT competencies and experience either from strategic sourcing or strategic sales- and business development within several IT domains. You have a natural interest in business and get energy from working towards ambitious goals. You enjoy achieving results in a collaborative way and you are effective in making fact-based decisions.
You will be part of a diverse and highly skilled team of Global Category Managers with ambition to add value to the business by developing category strategies and establishing resilient supplier bases. In this role you will have interfaces to several of the SKF Global IT organizations and units where major change initiatives within digitalization are being run.
Responsibilities
- Develop and Execute IT Category Strategies
- Lead the formulation, communication, and execution of strategic sourcing plans for IT categories, with a focus on optimizing solution architecture, supplier ecosystems, and total cost of ownership (TCO) across SKF’s global operations.
- Drive Strategic Sourcing Initiatives
- Own and manage strategic supplier relationships on a global scale, ensuring performance accountability through structured governance, KPIs, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Stakeholder Engagement and Requirements Management
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders across IT and business functions to capture and translate business needs into actionable sourcing strategies, renegotiation plans, and commercial supplier management frameworks.
- Engage daily with IT procurement colleagues and business stakeholders to exchange insights, resolve challenges, and co-develop value-driven sourcing solutions.

Candidate Profile
- To succeed in this role, you must demonstrate the ability to lead strategic IT sourcing in a complex, global enterprise environment. This capability may stem from experience in procurement, IT solution delivery, enterprise sales or management consulting.
- Deliver Results Through Global Collaboration
- Proven ability to drive business outcomes by fostering cross-border collaboration and stakeholder alignment.
- Strategic Negotiation Expertise
- Skilled in navigating dynamic market conditions and leveraging trends to secure favorable commercial outcomes.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English, with the ability to influence and engage at all organizational levels.
Educational and Professional Background
- Degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, or equivalent professional experience in a relevant domain.
- Demonstrated proficiency in managing complex projects with a structured, outcome-oriented approach.
- Familiarity with multi-vendor IT service ecosystems and integration models in a global context.
- Contract and Financial Acumen
- Experience in reviewing, negotiating, and managing complex IT contracts, with strong financial and analytical capabilities.
- Skills in SAP, Ariba Sourcing and the Ariba Request to Order solution are meritorious.
