Category Manager – Abrasive, Oil & Lub,MRO,Tooling, Packaging IDMS - Automotive Business
We are in the process of identifying a suitable candidate for the role of Category Manager – Abrasive, Oil & Lub,MRO,Tooling, Packaging IDMS. This role will be based in Bangalore/Pune and will report to the Regional IDMS Head, Manager - BLR Factory Purchasing.
Strategic sourcing & procurement activities for SKF entities for Indirect Material purchasing.
Key responsibilities (or What you can expect in the role)
Perform local purchasing according to defined strategy and frameworks:
- Strategic sourcing activities for Category
- analyzing industry trends, developing long-term strategies for product categories and managing relationships with vendors.
- Comprehensive Spend analytics & analyzing data to industry and C/T/Q trends
- Development & implementation of sourcing strategy
- Work with cross-functional teams and Global Category Managers, to ensure that strategies are executed across PAN India factories.
- Ownership of pricing and commercial discussions incl rate contracts, frame agreements within purchasing process framework.
- Lead and manage supplier relationships (SRM) from cost/ quality/ delivery/ de-risking perspective.
- Develop new suppliers in collaboration with quality and other functions.
- Operational purchasing – PR processing, end-to-end negotiations and agreement preparation
- Study the drawings / specifications received from engineering and send enquiries to vendors and get the price quotations.
- Review purchase requisitions and identify sources of supply
- Comparative quotes arranging and discussion with suppliers for mentioned commodities.
- Understand contracting terms & condition and good in drafting complex contracts.
- Coordinate with finance team
- Support follow up with suppliers for timely deliveries of items.
- Work in close collaboration with Global Category team, as well as end users
- Continuously track supplier performance
Requirements (or We expect you to have/be)
- 8+ years of relevant techno-commercial experience in Automotive / Industrial.
- Of 8 years, at least 3-5 years of IDM&S sourcing & procurement experience.
- Excel and ERP system knowledge/ (SAP Ariba) added advantage.
- Good communication and negotiation skills.
- Supplier Relationship Management Skills
- Knowledge of the commercial terms and contracting
- Data analysis, reporting etc
