Role Title: Manager - Quality, EHS and Business Excellence
Reports to: Regional Logistics Manager – India & ME
Role Type: Team management
Location: Chakan, Pune
Business Unit: Logistics & Demand Chain (L&DC) India
Purpose of the role :
Develop, maintain and facilitate the implementation of the pro-active quality approach, SKF quality policy, and procedures in alignment with the group Quality strategy to aim Zero Defect
Closely monitor the quality compliance in all logistics process across all DC’s and ensure the stake holders adhere to the SKF’s vision of operational excellence and close all the customer complaints within a stipulated time line.
Ensuring that EHS performance is continually improved and ensuring compliance with applicable EHS legislation and adherence to SKF EHS Policy at all L&DC facilities in India to aim Zero Accidents.
Lead continuous improvement activities using SKF Production Systems tools and techniques to achieve benchmark level of operations.
Key Responsibilities:
To review, develop, and maintain the Quality System in line with the SKF Quality Policy and the Business Area Quality Manual Qc; facilitate implementation of Quality Management System requirements within the Business Unit/Region
- To standardize and align local Quality Manuals whenever required
- To assist Process Owners to drive common processes.
- To oversee Quality Assurance of all the processes and to be the interface between the units and the Business Unit/Region
- To establish and deploy Quality targets and follow up on short & long-term Quality improvement plans through Business Scorecard process in line with the Business Area.
- To develop benchmarking system; collect and analyze data to recommend improvement areas in all levels.
- To analyze and facilitate the implementation of applicable Quality Standards and Customer specific requirements inside the Business Unit/Cluster.
- To drive CAPA in major customer complaints/Product Liability/Recall issues.
- To drive the continuous improvement process and change management.
- To plan, co-ordinate and monitor all process and quality system audits – external (LRQA/customer) and internal, and thereby maintain the satisfactory third-party certification status of units within the organization.
- To support the SKF Global Business Area projects/programs (Quality related e.g. supplier mentorship, ZD activities) inside the Business Unit/Cluster.
- To coordinate, drive and support the Quality community in competence development.
- To act as voice of the customer by ensuring that the awareness of customer requirements is promoted throughout the organization.
- To support unit Management in deployment of SKF production system.
- To follow management instructions and procedures; to report Environment Health and Safety (EHS) risks and EHS related incidents; to follow quality specifications and requirements and identify quality risks and opportunities for improvement.
- To provide a communication link between SKF L&DC facility and EHS Country Coordinator.
- To actively support and facilitate the whole organization and other initiatives which drive continuous improvement in the EHS performance.
- To ensure that legal non compliances are avoided, but in case of such act swiftly to initiate corrective actions.
Profile Requirements -
- Graduate in engineering / commerce / finance with specialization in operations, logistics or supply chain
- Certified Six sigma green belt / black belt and relevant experience in mentoring white/yellow belt and A3 projects
- Minimum 10 – 12 years of relevant experience in logistics & supply chain Industry with at least one stint in Business Excellence, Quality and EHS
- Knowledge and experience of logistics operational process(es) and their continuous improvement
- Strong analytical, problem solving and persuasive skills
- Effective communication skill as well as the ability to interact effectively with all levels of employees and external stakeholders.
