Job Description
Job Title: Manufacturing Quality Engineer (Equivalent to Dy Manager level)
Reports To: Quality Manager
Role Type: Individual Contributor
Location: Chinchwad, Pune
Role Purpose
- Ensure effective implementation of process and product quality control within manufacturing channels to meet customer specifications and drive continuous improvement through Lean Six Sigma.
Key Responsibilities
Customer Requirement Management
- Communicate customer-specific requirements to cross-functional teams.
- Ensure process alignment with customer expectations.
Process Quality Assurance
- Verify adherence to Control Plans and Work Instructions.
- Conduct process audits (heat treatment, grinding, packaging, etc.).
- Monitor key process parameters and KPIs.
Quality Improvement & Problem Solving
- Lead improvement initiatives from audits and complaints.
- Use 8D, 5 Why, Fishbone for root cause analysis.
- Drive reduction in non-conformances (SLR).
Quality Planning & Documentation
- Prepare PFD, PFMEA, and Control Plans.
- Support APQP activities.
Measurement & Validation
- Conduct Cp, Cpk studies.
- Support MSA and equipment validation.
New Product Introduction
- Participate in new product release.
- Validate First Piece Inspection (FPI).
Customer Complaint Handling
- Perform root cause analysis and implement CAPA.
Non-Conformance Management
- Ensure containment and corrective actions.
- Support contingency planning.
Audit Support & Records
- Maintain quality records and traceability.
- Support process/product audits.
EHS Compliance
- Follow EHS guidelines and report risks.
Continuous Improvement
- Support Lean Six Sigma Green Belt projects.
Qualifications & Experience
- Engineering degree with 4–10 years in manufacturing quality.
Key Skills
- APQP, PPAP, FMEA, SPC, MSA, problem solving, communication.
KPIs
- Customer complaints, process capability, scrap reduction, audit compliance.
Certifications –
- TS 16949, ISO 9001 - Internal Auditor
- Six Sigma Green Belt Certified
