JOB DESCRIPTION

 

Position Title:       Operations & Supply Chain Manager, Services

Role Type:             Individual Contribution  

Location:               Pune

 

Job Responsibilities

The Operational Manager will be responsible for end-to-end supply chain operations including procurement of manpower services, site specific material, Inventory management, demand planning, supplier management, and customer service. Ensuring effective coordination between site teams, suppliers, and supply chain functions to enable uninterrupted service execution and drive operational efficiency to support business growth

 

Key Responsibilities

 

Manpower Services Procurement

Identify, evaluate, and onboard manpower service vendors for service sites across multiple customer locations.

Conduct vendor capability, compliance, and commercial evaluations.

Negotiate commercial terms and finalize manpower service contracts.

Coordinate with Legal for contract vetting, CMS uploading, and timely execution.

Manage contract-related issues and resolve vendor conflicts to ensure continuity of operations.

Ensure compliance with statutory, labor, and contractual requirements.

 

Spares & Consumables Procurement

Identify and develop suppliers for spares and consumables required for site service operations.

Coordinate with site and engineering teams to understand material requirements.

Negotiate pricing, delivery terms, and service levels with suppliers.

Monitor supplier performance on cost, quality, and availability.

IMS / Inventory / VMI Support (Coordination Role)

Support IMS contracts including Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) in coordination with site teams, customer service and SKF distributors.

Monitor stock levels, consumption trends, and replenishment cycles.

Review inventory accuracy between physical stock and SAP records.

Support monitoring of IMS KPIs such as stock availability and service fill rate through coordination with site operations.

 

Customer Service & Supply Chain Transaction Monitoring

Monitor job-related service transactions including material issue and consumption.

Track procurement, inventory, and service transactions in SAP systems.

Coordinate with Service Execution, Supply Chain, and Finance teams to ensure transactional accuracy and timely closures.

Identify transaction gaps or delays and support resolution with operational teams.

Qualifications & Experience

Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Mechanical preferred) or Commerce / Management.

5-7 years of experience in procurement, service contracts, or supply chain roles within industrial / steel / heavy engineering environments.

Strong experience in manpower service contracting and vendor negotiations.

Hands-on exposure to SAP systems for procurement, inventory, and service transactions.

Experience working across multiple customer locations and stakeholders.
