Position Title:   Platform Owner - Multicloud

Reports To:       Global Service Owner - IT Infrastructure

Role Type:         Individual Contributor

Location:           Pune

Purpose of the role

The IT Infrastructure team is part of Global Infrastructure Services Org, fulfilling ‘strategic’ & ‘business as usual’ IT Infrastructure requirements of SKF Group.

A Platform Owner in a multi-cloud (Azure, AWS, OCI) environment plays a pivotal role in ensuring the seamless operations, governance, and strategic alignment of cloud platforms across multiple providers.

The aim of Cloud & Hosting team to support our business in making controlled changes to our infrastructure, to provide high quality service management & delivery.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Responsibilities

• Define and evolve the multi-cloud platform strategy aligned with business goals.
• Establish policies for cost management, security, compliance, and usage across cloud providers.
• Collaborate with business units, architecture, security, finance, and engineering to ensure platform capabilities meet organizational needs.

Operational Responsibilities

• Lifecycle Management: Oversee provisioning, scaling, upgrades and decommissioning of cloud resources.
• Service Reliability: Ensure high availability, performance, and resilience of platform services across clouds.
• Tooling & Automation: Implement CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code (IaC), and monitoring tools to streamline operations across cloud platforms.

Security & Compliance

• Access Control: Define and enforce identity and access management (IAM) policies across cloud environments.
• Work closely with the Security team to ensure all necessary policies are implemented and enforced.
• Audit & Compliance: Ensure adherence to regulatory standards (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA) and internal audit requirements.

Leadership & Collaboration

• Cross-Functional Leadership: Close collaboration with Regional IT, Security, SIAM, App Portfolio Owners.
• Vendor Management: Manage relationships with cloud service providers and third-party vendors.
• Training & Enablement: Promote cloud fluency and platform adoption across development and operations teams.

Metrics & Reporting

• Cost Optimization: Monitor and optimize cloud spend across platforms.
• Asset Management: Maintain the inventory and ownership of Cloud assets as per CMDB requirements.

Usage Analytics: Track platform usage, performance, and adoption to inform improvements.

Required experience

• 7+ years of experience in managing enterprise Cloud Estate Azure & AWS and 10 - 15 years of professional background within information technology.
• Experience in global enterprise environments with complex stakeholder landscapes.
• Proven track record in managing vendor relationships and service delivery.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience with Global IT Outsourcing and implementation
• Ability to constantly adapt, change and evolve
• BSC or B Tech degree in Computer Science or equivalent

Technical Skills

• Deep technical knowledge & experience (Hands-on) of Azure & AWS. Oracle will be added advantage.
• Experience setting platform roadmaps and aligning them with business goals.
• Proven experience with Cloud Migrations, Cloud Automation
• Ability to define and enforce cloud governance policies (e.g., cost controls, security, compliance).
• Strong understanding of DevOps and CI/CD practices.
• Experience designing scalable, secure, and cost-effective cloud solutions.
• Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform, CloudFormation.
• Knowledge of cloud security best practices, including identity and access management (IAM), encryption, and network security.
• Familiarity with compliance standards like ISO 27001, SOC 2, GDPR, or HIPAA.
• Proficiency in cloud monitoring tools (e.g., CloudWatch, Azure Monitor, Datadog).
• Experience with performance tuning, cost optimization, and capacity planning.
• Strong stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Ability to translate technical concepts into business language for executives and non-technical teams.
