Job Title: Regional Logistics Manager, India & ME
Role reports to: Head – Supply Chain Operations, ISEA
Role Type: Team Handling
Location: Chinchwad, Pune
Purpose of the role:
The Regional Logistics Manager is responsible for overseeing E2E warehousing & logistics operations for India & ME region which includes Factory Warehouse operations, Distribution Centre operations, EXIM, 3PL Performance management, Transportation and Logistics Sustainability. As needed, this role might require Hands on working with teams to enable our Logistics operations are aligned to meet the needs of our customers.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Warehouse Operations
Responsible for E2E warehouse operations covering Factory warehouses in Pune (covering Auto packaging, packing material management & warehousing), Bangalore warehouse and Distribution centres in Pune, Ahmedabad, Chennai & Gurgaon and also Regional warehouse in Dubai which is catering to Middle East Countries. Key focus areas will be Safety & Quality, warehouse productivity & cost, inventory accuracy, packing material cost.
2. EXIM
Ensure EXIM operations for India & ME is managed in a smooth, efficient & compliant manner delivering products as per customer needs at the right cost. Key focus areas will be On time delivery, Import spend optimization & compliance to local regulations adhering to SKF policies
3. Transportation
Responsible for Domestic transportation within India & ME to ensure products are delivered to customers as per lead time commitments, optimal cost to serve & in a safe, secure manner including Reverse logistics process in case of customer returns & any packing material returns from suppliers. Collaborate with Purchasing to ensure robust contract management practices are followed & adhered to ensuring compliance to company policies.
4. SPS Champion for Logistics & Warehousing
As SPS Champion for Logistics & warehousing, you will drive SPS roll out across all locations in India & ME driving Operational Excellence & Standardization across the warehouses. Network with SEA teams to learn & share best practices between each other to ensure, all warehouses across ISEA are adopting the standardized approach to deliver best in class results to our customers & SKF
5. Cross-Functional Alignment
Partner with Purchase to gather market insights and drive efficiency in warehousing & transportation. Coordinate with Customer Service and Planning function to ensure material availability & on time delivery to customers & effective management of conflicts to deliver Win – Win results for all stakeholders. Support Finance in budgeting and long-range planning with regards to Logistics & warehousing spend. Where ever required, collaborate with factory supply chain teams to ensure business deliverables are met without any impact to customers & operations
6. Leadership
As part of the Supply Chain Leadership team in ISEA, you will be required to collaborate with other functional leaders to develop the Strategy for overall Supply Chain & deploy as appropriate within Logistics function to drive execution. In addition to this, as part of the Global Logistics Council representing ISEA, you will also be involved in developing the long term strategy for Logistics & warehousing along with colleagues from other regions for overall SKF & deploy them as required within the region. Lead continuous improvement initiatives using Problem solving methodologies.
7. Data Management & Systems
Drive automation, dashboarding, and advanced analytics in logistics & warehousing accelerating our journey towards Control Tower based model to drive customer delight.
8. Performance Management
Track and report key KPIs including, Packaging cost, warehousing cost, transportation cost as % of sales, Inventory accuracy, FIFO compliance, Block stock, Customs compliance & audit observations (NC’s), Logistics Scope 3 emissions, 3PL performance management, lead time compliance & on time delivery on transportation including domestic & EXIM.
Profile Requirements
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Business, Engineering, or related field.
- 12–15+ years of experience in Logistics, Warehousing, EXIM operations with 2 – 3 years in leadership position developing strategy and driving till execution
- Advanced Excel and data analytics skills; experience with Power BI/Tableau preferred.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Any CII certification on Warehousing / Transportation will be an added advantage
