CNC Lathe Operator

 

Reports to:  Channel Manager

Location:  Salt Lake City, UT

 

Job Summary

Set up and operation of Okuma CNC lathes to produce precision plastic parts (PTFE and rigid plastic materials) to drawing specifications in a fast paced, team-oriented production environment.  Accurate completion of daily production logs.  Basic daily maintenance and housekeeping of lathe machines.

 

This hourly role follows a competency framework that provides a pay rate based on experience and proven ability to meet the requirements and competencies of the position.

 

Job Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Previous experience in set up and operation of CNC machines
  • Safe, accurate and efficient operation of CNC machines
  • Basic PC skills and math skills required
  • Experience with measuring equipment such as calipers, micrometers and other measuring devices/machines
  • Ability to understand basic shop drawings and set-up instructions
  • Ability to act as a Team Player 
  • Basic knowledge of safety standards
  • Must be detail oriented and able to complete production documentation
  • Ability to work swing and off shifts
  • Regular and predictable on-site attendance
  • Must be proficient in English for safe and efficient performance of job.

Competencies

  • Must complete JSA training
  • Needs to be able to handle and read Pi Tape accurately
  • Knows how to use calipers to measure dimensions.
  • Able to use Work Instructions for operation
  • Verify programs and be able to make adjustments
