Cost Engineering Manager EMEA - Automotive Business
As a Cost Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for developing and implementing cost engineering strategies to optimize the cost structure of our products and processes purchased from external suppliers. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to analyze costs, identify opportunities for cost reduction, and ensure that our projects are delivered within budget.
Key responsibilities
- Lead and manage the VAVE program to identify and implement cost reduction opportunities.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to collect and analyze data to identify potential areas for cost savings, including new and existing product benchmarks.
- Develop and implement cost engineering strategies and processes.
- Develop and maintain a database (cost estimation tool) to support future cost evaluations.
- Support Procurement team evaluate suppliers based on their ability to meet the company's cost reduction and quality requirements, as well in negotiations to obtain the best price and terms for materials and components.
- Implement supplier development program to improve supplier performance and reduce cost.
- Executive of trainings within the Procurement organization and with interface partners.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or industrial engineering or a related field
- Minimum of 5+ years of experience in VAVE or cost reduction initiatives.
- Good knowledge of machining processes, such as turning, forging, grinding.
- Experience in managing supplier relationships and negotiating contracts.
- Experience in effectively implementing cost reduction projects.
- Proficiency in data analysis and problem-solving skills.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment.

Some additional information
This position will be located preferred in Airasca (Italy), Schweinfurt (Germany), or Gothenburg (Sweden), or in one of other major SKF Automotive site in EMEA region.
