SUMMARY:

Responsible for the procurement of materials, parts and services for both Production and administrative support.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLILITES

(include the following. Other duties may be assigned.)

  • Develop sources of supply for assigned raw materials, purchased components and MRO items
  • Conduct Vendor surveys
  • Negotiate pricing for purchased items.
  • Assist in developing policies and procedures
  • Reviews requisitions for adequacy and proper approvals
  • Expedites and assures vendor performance to delivery schedules
  • Ensures changes are communicated to suppliers ECO & ECR
  • Updates pricing of inventory items for standard costs
  • Initiates and resolves corrective actions with suppliers
  • Resolves pricing and quality variances
  • Acts as conduit for introduction of new materials or processes
  • Keeps track of trends in industry that affect price and availability and advises management
     

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • BSBA or four year Technical Degree or equivalent experience
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes and material
  • Knowledgeable about foreign exchange rates and its impact on prices, customs and trade practices with International suppliers, and International Commercial Terms (Incoterms)
  • Strong sourcing capabilities
  • Basic understanding of blueprints
     

EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum five years Purchasing experience in an Industrial environment
