Summary: 

The Lubrication Lifetime Solutions Business Unit is responsible for the development, design and manufacturing of lubrication- related systems,  tools and equipment. The Business Unit operates in a large number of countries and markets, with a customer portfolio that includes many major OE manufacturers of automotive and industrial products as well as distribution channel partners. Our business focus is on highly engineered solutions and products in both high volume and very low volumes. 

 

Primary responsibilities:

Primary responsibility of this position is to motivate and lead the Lubrication factory in St. Louis to world class performance in safety, quality, delivery performance, cost competitiveness and employee development - while aligning with the SKF and Lubrication Lifetime Solutions Business Unit goals and strategies.

 

Additional, this role will entail to lead a factory transformation program and adapting to changing market demands, enhancing operational efficiency and fostering a culture of continuous improvement, innovation and change - ensuring long-term competitiveness and sustainability.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • To lead the factory and its transformation towards world class performance in efficiency, safety, quality, delivery performance, cost competitiveness and employee experience.
  • Lead all day to day manufacturing operations across machining, assembly, production, maintenance and shipping in a unionized environment. 
  • Create, deploy, and achieve Activity Plans for the factory to meet targets, KPIs and deployment of policies.
  • Implement SKF Production System and engagement of all associates to continuously improve the factory performance and operational results.
  • Deployment of lean and six sigma tools to continuous improvement, eliminate waste, improve efficiency and flow throughout the factory
  • Foster positive culture, engagement, working environment and people development
  • Proactively support business opportunities and execution of new products
  • Manage the capacity and launch of new channels, equipment, and capabilities in the factory, and ensure all SKF requirements concerning Health & Safety, environmental and legal regulations are followed

 

Job Requirements:

  • University degree, preferably in Engineering
  • Proven leadership track record with a minimum of 7 years of progressive management experience in a unionized manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrated success leading operational transformation initiatives and large-scale change programs in unionized manufacturing settings, including workforce engagement, productivity improvement, and cultural transformation.
  • Strong customer focus with a results-driven mindset and a proven ability to deliver sustainable business outcomes.
  • Solid financial and business acumen with a strong understanding of operational and commercial drivers.
  • Good analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated ability in motivating and developing people
  • Experience managing labor/management relationships in a Union environment
  • Experience in implementation of Lean Manufacturing or similar concepts
  • Experience leading business transformation efforts, including process optimization, organizational redesign, workforce development, and operational turnaround initiatives.
  • Ability to work with cross-cultural and cross-functional team in a matrixed organization
