Manual Lubrication Systems (MLS) is one part of SKF’s Lubrication Lifetime Solutions Business Unit’s portfolio, and our MLS team develops tools, equipment, and fluid-handling solutions used in industrial machinery, workshops, and vehicle service applications around the world.
As Product Development Engineer in this team, you will play an important role in developing and improving products from idea to release. You will translate product needs into clear engineering solutions, work with colleagues across functions, and help ensure that our products are robust, compliant, and ready for customer use.
What you can expect in the role:
In this role, you will mainly focus on:
- Developing new and improved products for manual lubrication and fluid-handling applications.
- Converting product requirements into clear specifications, concepts, designs, drawings, and technical documentation.
- Ensuring that products meet performance, quality, safety, and regulatory requirements.
- Planning and supporting validation, testing, qualification, and product release activities.
- Driving engineering changes, product updates, and continuous improvements throughout the product lifecycle.
- Maintaining accurate product data and engineering documentation in line with business processes.
- Working closely with product management, operations, quality, suppliers, and other engineering colleagues to deliver effective solutions.
What we are looking for:
- A bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, mechatronics, or a related engineering field.
- Experience in product development, product engineering, or design engineering within an industrial or manufacturing environment.
- Good understanding of mechanical design, materials, components, drawings, tolerances, and product documentation.
- Experience with product testing, validation, qualification, or compliance activities.
- Ability to turn customer, product, and business needs into practical engineering solutions.
- A structured way of working, with strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Good communication skills in English and the ability to work effectively with colleagues, suppliers, and stakeholders across functions and locations.
- Experience with fluid handling, lubrication equipment, pumps, valves, hose reels, workshop equipment, or similar products is considered an advantage.

This position is preferably located in Saint Louis, Missouri, US. Other SKF locations may be considered depending on the candidate’s profile.
