Purchasing Specialist

 

 

Reports to:  Procurement Manager

Location:  St. Louis, MO

 

SUMMARY: Responsible for the administrative tasks required to support Buyers in the procurement of direct and indirect materials, parts and services for the Company.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLILITES

(can include the following. Other duties may be assigned.)

  • Serve as the conduit for all communications from suppliers regarding imported container shipments
  • Handle the ASN JDE upload for container shipments
  • Manage the scheduling and keep track of all imported containers
  • Handle the review and resolve of imported container invoices
  • Review JDE for container receipt discrepancies
  • Serve as channel for all purchased items expediting needs
  • Obtain updates on direct spend late Pos
  • Ensure direct spend purchase orders are acknowledged by Suppliers
  • Update open POs in JDE with status changes and expediting notes
  • Distribute Open PO Report to Suppliers
  • Setup new vendors in JDE and manage the company's vendor database
  • Meet daily with PE and QA to review rejected purchased items
  • Manage the MRN process to ensure rejection notices are recorded in the Access database and channeled to the appropriate Buyer
  • Maintain the filing of MRNs and supporting documents
  • Create Rework Orders, Scrap Authorizations, Debit Memos and return to vendor documents
  • Ensure clearing of rework G/L account by providing chargeback documents to A/P
  • Meet weekly with PE for review of pending ECOs
  • Serve as the conduit for the Buyers to receive ECO assignments from Product Engineering.
  • Assemble RFQ/ECO packages
  • Maintain centralized Excel file for ECOs pending action from Purchasing
  • Resolve all invoices rejected by A/P
  • Provide monthly supplier performance and plating reports
  • Perform monthly credit card reconciliations
  • Meet weekly with Buyers to ensure pending ECOs, MRNs, and invoice issues and late and unacknowledged POs are addressed
  • Meet Daily with Receiving to review and resolve any receipt issues
     

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Four year Technical or Business Degree or equivalent experience
  • Accounting experience, a plus
  • Advanced Excel skills, a plus
  • Strong interpersonal and written/oral communication skills
  • Able to multi-task and work in a very fast paced environment
  • Physical requirements - must be able to walk to handle frequent needs on the production floor

 


EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum two years Purchasing or equivalent experience in an Industrial environment
