Transport Coordinator EMEA
- Automotive Business Tongeren 


Based in Tongeren, Belgium, this role puts you right at the heart of our transport transformation journey. You’ll help transition away from the current DTS network, support the broader SAP/TM implementation, secure high‑quality master data, and make sure the system truly supports daily operations.


It’s a unique mix of hands‑on transport work and more strategic responsibility, shaping a reliable distribution model, supporting national and global transport operations, driving cost efficiency, ensuring compliance, and improving processes across EMEA.

What you can expect in the role

Purchasing & transport coordination

  • Support purchasing and transportation activities within EMEA, in close collaboration with central purchasing
  • Act as a point of contact towards carriers and suppliers, and follow up on performance
  • Participate in tenders by comparing offers, prices, and service levels
  • Support analysis of market trends and contribute to improvements with suppliers


Daily operations & transport planning

  • Coordinate, plan, and book shipments across the European transport network
  • Maintain schedules, routes, tariffs, and ensure that system data is accurate and up to date
  • Follow up on KPIs and support investigations of deviations and transport damages
  • Contribute to improving daily operations and ways of working


Improvement & development

  • Support analysis of transport flows to improve cost, service and lead time

  • Contribute to identifying improvement opportunities within the supply chain

  • Participate in initiatives linked to sustainability and environmental impact in transport

  • Support onboarding of new carriers and ways of working (including system-related setup where needed)


Guidelines & compliance

  • Follow established transport rules, guidelines and international trade requirements
  • Support the team in handling transport-related issues and deviations
  • Stay updated on relevant regulations within logistics and transport
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure smooth and compliant operations

 
You will enjoy working here if you have  

  • Relevant academic background, completed training in the field, or equivalent work experience
  • Strong negotiation, organizational, and communication skills
  • Advanced knowledge of logistics processes, including Supply Chain Management, with an understanding of major transport modes and distribution strategies
  • Proficient in logistics systems, SAP/TM, and performance measurement tools
  • Fluent in English

Some additional information
This position is located at SKF Automotive's site in Tongeren, Belgium.
Employment will be on a local contract, and therefore, you need to live in the region and be able to commute to our site several times per week.

Please note that relocation is not approved for this role, and we are therefore looking for candidates who are citizens or legally resident in Belgium. 

You will report to the acting Manager, Andreas Wartha, Head of Logistics EMEA, located in Schweinfurt, Germany.
