Global Business Process and System Expert - Transportation Automotive Business
As a Global Business Process and System Expert – Transportation at SKF, your responsibilities will include syncing business needs with functional and system solutions, supporting the development and implementation of processes, aiding IT integration, and enhancing continuous improvement via innovation and system evolution, particularly for SAP TM.
Key responsibilities
Process Ownership
- Define and maintain global transportation processes, aligned with business needs and best practices;
- Ensure global adherence to the standard processes and lead quality audits in the domain of transportation
System Expertise & Functional Support
- Act as a glob Subject Matter Expert for Transport Management Systems (SAP TM) and transportation systems – ensuring operational excellence and global standardization;
- Translate business and functional transportation needs into system requirements in collaboration with IT and key business stakeholders;
- Participate in system testing, validation, and implementation phases for new functionalities or system changes;
- Facilitate and coordinate IT integration of transport suppliers in SAP TM in close alignment with transport operations and the SKF IT- department.
Market Development
- Monitor global transportation market trends and developments in the domain of Transport Management systems;
- Monitor and integrate IT support systems (eg. AI, visibility platforms, Combined Carrier Label applications…)
Governance & Data Management
- Own, maintain, and ensure governance of transportation master data, including Transport Mode Codes (TMCs), Transportation Nodes, and Transportation Trips.
- Act as internal and external role owner for SAP Transportation Management (TM) and as functional owner of SAP TM.
- Secure standardization of system use across the globe
Collaboration & Coaching
- Engage with cross-functional internal stakeholders (e.g., global and regional transportation, procurement, IT, logistics control tower) on transportation-related initiatives.
- Coach, develop, and support the global transportation community to ensure consistent understanding and use of transportation systems and procedures.
Project & Integration Management
- Guide or participate in global, cross-functional logistics projects focusing on transportation systems and processes and support internal and external IT integrations related to transportation systems.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, IT, or related field.
- Effective experience with global transportation processes and systems, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- In-depth knowledge and hands-on experience with SAP TM and related transportation IT solutions.
- Proficiency in English; additional languages are meritorious
- Highly proficient analytical, communication, and documentation skills.
- Ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and work in a global, matrixed organization.

While the main SKF sites in EMEA (Tongeren (BE), Schweinfurt (DE) or Gothenburg (SE) are our preferred location for this position, we are open to evaluate other Automotive locations for the right candidate.
