Metallurgical Laboratory Expert
@ Aerospace BU, Villar Perosa Plant
As the Metallurgical Laboratory Expert, leveraging your deep knowledge of metallurgical processes, you will manage and coordinate laboratory activities, supervise daily operations, and interact with internal stakeholders (Quality, Production, etc.) and external ones (customers, suppliers, or third-party entities), with the goal of continuously improving our production processes.
You will also be responsible for:
- Ensuring compliance with quality standards, customer requirements, and safety regulations.
- Overseeing metallurgical analyses and interpreting test data, along with preparing technical reports and presenting analysis results.
- Preparing for and participating in Nadcap audits, as well as audits by authorities and customers, related to metallurgical lab activities.
Application Areas:
- Approval of heat treatment processes for steel and copper alloys (Salt/Vacuum Hardening, Carburizing, Nitriding)
- Support the development of heat treatment process cycles (High/Low alloy steels, copper alloys, carburizing process)
- Hardness control management (Rockwell, Brinell, Vickers)
- X-ray Diffraction (Residual stress, Retained austenite verification)
Main Requirements:
- Degree in Materials Science, Materials Engineering, or Technical High School Diploma with significant experience in metallurgical laboratories in aerospace or mechanical sectors
- In-depth knowledge of metallurgical analysis techniques
- Specific technical experience in heat treatments of steel and copper alloys
- Proven experience in managing relationships with various internal and external stakeholders, and being part of working groups for local and/or international projects
- Fluent Italian and English, both written and spoken

Additional Information
The workplace will be the SKF Avio plant in Villar Perosa (Turin), reporting to the Quality Factory & Repair Station Manager – Avio. Local contract will be offered.
