Product Engineer @Aerospace BU Italy 

Villar Perosa plant

The Aerospace Business Unit is responsible for Aerospace applications with a global responsibility for Sales, Manufacturing, Business development, Product and Process Development. The Business Unit operates in a large number of countries and markets, all over the world and with a customer portfolio that includes all major players in the Aerospace industry. Our business is fully customer focused, with products specifically designed for an engine / airframe application and then produced in small quantities and small lots on highly flexible equipment. Extreme product range fragmentation, complex product design, very high-quality standards and traceability requirements are the peculiarity of our Business Unit.

The candidate selected for this position will be responsible for conducting design engineering on new and existing products. Release drawings and calculations for finished coproduct designs as dictated by customers or market requirements. Provides technical assistance to Sales, Quality Assurance, Purchasing and Manufacturing. Investigate and - or creates new product opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

• Participate in projects review in collaboration with the local Application Engineering and Project Management Team as well as the factories; and works closely with Manufacturing, Quality Assurance and Sales departments’ personnel in preparation and finalization of product and process designs;
• Conducts analysis using internal software following AS9100 procedures; investigates new designs; evaluates engineering proposals and critically reviews customer drawings and specifications as they relate to the application for both new and repeat orders;
• Studies and evaluates new product ideas for their potentiality and practicality; and prepares formal, technical proposals that satisfy customer inquiries or specifications; makes modifications and design changes in existing product lines, all in respect of applicable current standards and practices 
• Interfaces with and provides application assistance to the Application Engineering Team and customers;
• Assistance in resolution of manufacturing issues related to drawings or product field performance;
• Applies or establishes engineering standards, practices and specifications and ensures sound, technical engineering concepts are applied.
• Shows communication skills by understanding the wants, needs, and viewpoints of others, excelling in relationship management, listening, and relating to colleagues and stakeholders. 

Job Requirements

• Degree in Engineering - Aero or Mechanical;
• Proficient in mechanical skills
• Experience with engineering drawings and parametric 3D modeling systems; familiar with CAD programs 
• Competency in applying GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) / Geometric Product Specification (GPS).
• Very good communication, interpersonal and presentation skills, fluent in Italian and in English, both verbal and written;
• Willingness to travel according to the needs;
• Good learning ability and work well in a hard-working setting

Additional information
The position will be located in Villar Perosa (Turin), on local contract.

The position holder will report to the Product Engineering Manager, who is located in Villar Perosa.
