Product & Technology Development POD Planner – Zapopan, MX

 

 

We are in the process of identifying a suitable candidate for the role of PTD POD Planner in Zapopan, MX with the Seals Business Unit. 

This position will report to the PTD Manager – Zapopan.

 

 

Position Summary:

 

The Purchasing and Prototype Planning Specialist is responsible for procuring all materials and supplies necessary for prototype manufacturing, as well as planning and coordinating prototype orders and shipments. This role plays a key role in ensuring that the necessary resources are available in a timely and efficient manner to support prototype development and production within the organization.

 

Duties and Responsibilities (including but not limited to):

 

  • Provide the necessary support for the correct management and manufacture of prototype orders.
  • Carry out purchase orders, ensuring the timely procurement of the materials and supplies required for the prototypes.
  • Provide quotes for new prototypes
  • Collaborate closely with development and design teams to understand prototype requirements and schedule orders according to specific timelines and needs.
  • Monitor inventory levels of materials and supplies and make forecasts to avoid shortages or overstocks.
  • Coordinate the shipments of the prototypes and ensure that the agreed deadlines are met
  • Actively participate in the continuous improvement of the company through the execution and documentation of improvement projects.
  • Boost the troubleshooting process using established tools in order to strive for zero defects.
  • Work in accordance with SKF's quality management system, EHS procedures and behaviors. 

 

Minimum Education/Experience Required:

 

  • BS degree in an engineering discipline
  • Familiar with SKF Seals product range, engineering and manufacturing capabilities and processes
  • Familiar with automotive engineering, development, and launch tools and processes such as ETO, APQP, DFMEA, DFSS, DVP&R, etc
  • Must be an excellent team player with strong analytical, negotiating and communication skills
  • Ability to effectively communicate at all levels and across the organization
  • Excellent follow-up and organizational skills required
  • Ability to multi-task, establish priorities and yet be flexible in an ever-changing environment
  • Software tools: Office 365, XA – Mapics, Ariba, SAP, etc
