JOB DESCRIPTION
Position Title: Assistant Manager – Electrical
Reports To: DGM - Production and Maintenance
Role Type: Individual Contributor
Location: Bengaluru
Purpose of the role
Responsible for electrical control panel inspection, testing, troubleshooting, and basic programming activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Read and understand electrical control panel schematics, wiring diagrams and GA.
- Verify wiring and component installation against approved drawings.
- Conduct visual and dimensional inspections of electrical control panels.
- Verify proper installation of electrical components, wiring, ferruling, labeling to ensure compliance with project specifications, quality standards, and safety requirements.
- Perform electrical testing including continuity, insulation resistance (IR), loop checks, and functional testing.
- Support Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and Site Acceptance Testing (SAT).
- Identify and troubleshooting of wiring, component, and control circuit issues.
- Maintain testing records and reports.
- Assist in PLC and HMI programming, configuration, and testing activities.
- Support debugging and modifications of PLC programs.
- Verify input/output (I/O) functionality and control logic operation.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives for quality and productivity.
- Knowledge on Maintenance excellence, 5S and lean Manufacturing will be added advantage.
Skills & Requirements
- Minimum 5 plus years of experience from B.E (Electrical) background
- Ability to read and interpret electrical control panel drawings.
- Knowledge of electrical components such as contactors, relays, MCBs, MCCBs, MPCBs, SMPS, PLCs and related switchgear, etc.,
- Basic knowledge of PLC programming and industrial automation.
- Good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Exposure to Siemens, Allen-Bradley, Schneider, or Mitsubishi PLC platforms.
- Knowledge of AutoCAD Electrical.
- Understanding of industrial communication protocols such as Modbus, Profinet, or Ethernet/IP.
- Experience with control panel manufacturing, testing, or commissioning activities.
